Default Queen's Platinum Jubilee

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee is next week,
Are you getting excited , have you put the flags and bunting up yet , are you going to have a street party?
Or are you anti royalist and will go to work as usual while listening to the sex pistols

Everybody please stand for the National Anthem altogether now

"Everyone
Everyone around here
Everyone is so near
It's holding on
It's holding on"

Oh not that one...

I've watched this quite a few times after discovering it the other day. It's incredible.

The UK is such a weird place sometimes.

I've really not been following it so I'm hoping it's not going to be a big deal but I'm slightly worried its going to be everywhere and anyone who doesn't partake in some sort of festivities will be hounded out of society. I'm getting clap for the NHS vibes although I don't think it will be that popular? Will it?

Jesus. I couldn't watch all of that. Please tell me if was some sort of advert for TSB or whatever and not something people did voluntarily or it was satire that had a funny bit at the end?

Jubblywhat?
I will certainly be taking advantage of the double bank holiday by not doing any work.
Apart from that, nope. Don't care.

I may watch some because after the current Queen has gone I don't see anything in the future monarchs at all.

In the spirit of all the things the Queen has done for me throughout my life, I'm going to do absolutely nothing.

Babe, I don't even know what a jubilee is. A time for jubilation? I know that platinum is a chemical element of the periodic table. I know who the Queen is.

(I don't care)

I've been exercising my middle finger since March in preparation for my attendance at the local street party.

We have people round, one of whom's a fair royalist. I'm going to struggle to nod along and not look offensively uninterested. But we will endure.

I am upset my 'looks like chocolate but isn't' mousse didn't win the competition to be official jubilee dessert. It really captured my attitude towards it. And so easy to make at home.

It's very likely to be a "last hurrah" for people who are invested in that kind of thing. Given her age and declining health, it's unlikely that she'll be around to celebrate her 75th anniversary.

What a legacy though, apart from the paedophile son.

When actually is the Jubilee? Is it the 2nd June?
Because we have a bank holiday on Friday and Monday don't we? I'm trying to work out when I should avoid going to the shops so that I don't run into any "celebrations".

It's going to be publicly busy for quite a stretch around that period with people taking advantage and booking holiday.

I won’t be doing anything. Not something that appeals to me for various reasons.

There is a street party which an elderly neighbour has kindly invited me to. I feel bad, but I have made an excuse!

Well. Ime a Republican so I most certainly will not be taking part in any festivities or whatever.

I can remember the Silver Jubilee in 1977, when I was just 8 years old. There was a Street party planned where I stayed. It was the only one arranged in the entire city!! Everyone was more or less 'forced' to attend by the neighbor who planned it and we were all given Union Jack bow ties to wear!!!

On the day there was a massive (all day) rain/wind storm and everything was blown away or soaked so it never happened!!!

It later turned out that the bloke who organized the event was a journalist, and was obviously trying to create his own news story!!!
