Hiya, I was a member here very briefly a long time ago, but I felt like I really needed to come back.

Things haven't been going so well in my life and I need to make some friends, find some sort of support etc. But it's hard, I'm in my 30's and friendships don't seem to happen. I meet people, but I'm quiet, so things never seem to go anywhere.

I'm recently bereaved, two people I love died in less than a year. Pretty much all my 'friends' ghosted me. I'm not sure what I did wrong. I've also been through a few abusive situations too, so that didn't help with my social anxiety. The world feels like such a bleak and cold place.

I'm lucky to have my mum though, she's like my best friend. She helps me a lot and we spend lots of time together. She works full time though, so it'd be really nice to find some other support. I also have two cats, but hoping to get a dog soon.

I have social anxiety, but also depression, fibromyalgia and I'm waiting (and waiting) to be assessed for autism too.

Hi Ria, hope you're having a better day. I do understand why you feel the world is so hard to navigate nowadays as I feel the same way, friends come and go and I genuinely believe that often it's nothing we've done rather that they're so caught up in the difficulties of their own lives that they let the relationship drift, it's something that I've been guilty of myself and although it was hardly intentional I hate myself for it. Of course there are other reasons for how people behave and we only have to look at the Bible for the answer at 2 Timothy 3: 1-7. I hope you get your consultation and diagnosis soon girl and things improve, it sounds like you've been through an awful time of it just recently.
