Default Kaka?

One for the football fans this.

Kaka - £108m and £500,000 a week wages!

Great to see him in the Premiership, or the the death knell of English football? Or a bit of both!

Personally i don't think the deal will go through. At least not in January.

The prospect of earning 500,000 GBP a week makes me wish I had testicles and strapping thigh muscles and a dose of big fat bristling luck

£26m a year! (I assume that's before taxes). He seems quite a level headed individual, you'd have to be.

Yeah don't forget he pays 40% tax after the first 36k!

His Dad, as his agent, stands to pocket £9m in commision on this deal. Can you imagine Sunday dinner in the Kaka household if/when the young lad turns it down!

Transcript of Phone Call Between City & Kaka

I have come across dialogue between Man City and AC Milan superstar Kaka. Unfortunately I only have the script from the City end but I think it is clear for all as to the total content:

"Hello, is that Kaka? How do you fancy becoming the supply line to Craig Bellamy and Darius Vassell this winter?

"No, your fellow countryman doesn't like the cold and will be out until mid April - but you will play alongside Stephen Ireland"

"No, Kaka, Ireland is a person not a country"

"yes, I fully appreciate that he is not Ronaldinho, Pirlo or even Beckham but many fans have him in their fantasy football"

"I know you are currently the richest man in Italy but we can double it!"

"erm, well, we have had a bit of a slide recently and we are currently 15th"

"erm, out of 20...... but Mark Hughes once won the double for our neighbours"

"Hughes"

"Ex Blackburn boss"

"Blackburn, Blackburn Rovers"

"No, Blackburn......Black.....Burn"

"HUGHES man, HUGHES!!!"

"He once scored a good goal against Spain"

"No, thats Gerry Armstrong..... anyway, are you coming or not?"

"Usually about two thirds full but if we play a big team its really rocks"

"yes I know, but we dont even have a car park cos all the fans walk to the ground they are so local"

"Relevance? well, I suppose its all they have to brag about whether its true or not"

"Only the one to be fair but its called 'blue moon' you will love it"

"Blue"

"yes, definitely blue, always has been"

"No, no, no, they are in Trafford"

"yes they are, steeped in it in fact but what good is history to you my ambitious friend?"

"erm, 1976 I think"

"it was the er, the er League cup if memory serves me right"

"Well, the plan was to get in the top 4 this season and then....."

"yes, I realise that but....."

"Aston Villa? Whats it got to do with them?"

"Yes, I know but we have been down this history route already"

"How the heck does a Brazilian playing in Italy know about Nottingham Forest?"

"Yes, yes, and Leeds United also made a final but you are missing my point, this is all about the future"

"Give me strength......HUGHES!!!!"

"yes I know he did and he was a legend there but he is a changed man"

"forget them, they are falling apart"

"But all those trophies were won last year! They have won nothing in 2009"

"I have told you.... 1976!!!!"

"How the heck does a Brazilian playing in Italy know that Virginia Wade has won Wimbledon since then?"

"Yes she probably is in her 60's"

"Murray seems a differant prospect from Henman"

"I dont know, probably about 10 league titles, 2 european cups and countless domestic cups what has that got to do with it?"

"76,000 why?"

"yes, every game, even minor cups I suppose, but where is this getting us?"

"Yes, the league cup is considered a minor cup over here why?"

"I know, I know, I know, ok perhaps they won the FA Cup in 1970 or something does it really matter?"

"look, Kaka, we will treble whatever you are on now, buy you a mansion in Alderley Edge and give you a helicopter for your front lawn....are you joining us?"

"NO!, its owned by the council - what has the ground got to do with anything"

"well, officially its the city of manchester stadium but most people call it Eastlands"

"EAST!, not Waste"

"You will be adored there"

"No, not there, here I meant"

"No, thats Old Trafford, I meant adored here at Waste....erm, Eastlands"

"Anderson??? what does he know?"

"Ok I hear what you say, but other than Pride, Ambition, Achievement, History, Passion and a large car park - what can they offer you?"

"what do you mean no credit left in your phone.....I phoned you"

"Hello, Mr Kaka,...... Mr Kaka are you there?............................

'Kaka this, Kaka that' - it's all I've heard for days. I wasn't interested in the slightest... until I saw him. He's rather nice. It's a bit unfair that someone should be the 'best' footballer in the world, earn obscene amounts of money and be good looking!

it's madness really. Man City have still really got to build their team, and to be honest they really should do that with a top top manager- Mark Hughes imo isn't that manager. The actual bid of 108m isn't excessively bad as he is one of the best players in the world, and with inflation old records such as 48m for Zidane will be broken. However, his wages of 500k a week is ridiculous. The top players in the premiership get around 150k a week I think, so 500k? (1m every 2 weeks for a player?) is a little bit overboard.

That pretty much sums up my views too. Man City are down near the bottom of the Premiership, out of both cups to lower league opposition and likely to be out of europe next season. Whereas Milan are pushing for a Champions League place and will no doubt be competing for trophies for many years to come. So if hes got any sense of loyalty hell stick with them and tell City where to shove their money. But Ive got a feeling he wont somehow.

I have mixed feelings on the subject.

Pros: It may mean lots of big name stars (and more Brazilians) may follow to the Premiership and ignore Spain and Italy

It would give me hope that City might do better than United.

Cons: In a few years time A C Milan could be a massive club, just think what they could do with £100M, 5 world class player £20 a pop, or get rid of all their players over 30 and develop a fantastic youth system. It might make it more difficult for an English Club to win the European Champions League.

Increase of ticket prices.

It really sucks that all these players are getting paid so much when so many people are on minimum wage.

I can't think of any more at the moment, so it would seem that I don't want the Kaka move to go ahead.

Default Re: Kaka?

it wont make any difference to city.
they still have Richard Dunne in defence ffs

they need a world class right back, holding midfielder, striker and two centre backs

they already have pretty damn good attacking midfielders in Elano, Ireland, Robinho.

Kakas heart wont be in a relegation struggle and that makes him less valuable than an average player who gives 110% every match.

I agree with your Pros. Id like to see City do better than United without a doubt. Then again Id like to see all clubs but Chelsea in that position.

Regarding the Cons side AC Milan are already a big name club with the likes of Ronaldinho, Inzaghi, Pirlo, Senderos(?), Zambrotta and Nesta in the squad. No doubt the money would help them add to the squad but with these names plus Kaka they already have a team that can compete with anyone.

One good thing about Kaka is while City are focusing on him their attentions cooled on both Parker and Bellamy at West Ham. So heres hoping the saga drags on a little bit longer. Til February at least.

If Kaka really wanted to do good, he would do this deal and donate part of his wages to charity. I mean donating 100k of his wages could save 1000s of life's.

According to the interweb (which is NEVER wrong). He donates 10% of his earnings to his local church.

I don`t think he really wants to join Man City but Milan can`t really refuse 108 million or whatever they get. Hopefully they`ll offer similar amounts to Man Utd for Rooney and Ronaldo!

I`m sure you would but don`t think they would offer that much if they wanted them! The yanks at Liverpool would probably want to sell Torres and Gerrard if they were offered 100 million.
