Default Nearly tutorial time...

Dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnn.

In about 45 minutes, I'll be off to go and teach my first tutorial. I'll be taking a class of 6 1st year undergrads and teaching them the ins and outs of psychology practical writing. It's the first bit of proper teaching I've ever done, but I'm posting in here because I'm feeling pretty optimistic about it.

I'll update you all when I get back.

Well, it's over and I think I did quite well. I was pretty nervous, and I think it showed, but I managed it. I think I probably confused them more than they were already, but I'm pretty bloody pleased with how it went. I'll have my next tutorial in two weeks, but before then I've got to mark their practicals so I can discuss them with them next time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they're good so I don't get blamed for being a crap teacher...

I had to tutor a few courses last year (and probably this year too ) so I feel your pain, congrats The first class is always the hardest I find, it all gets easier afterwards.

Major respect is due to you, odster.

I'm extremely impressed.

Good luck with the next one too.

In the meantime... have a banana, you deserve it.

Congrat Odworthy
I wish I'll be enough brave when it comes to do my research presentations next January when I move to UCL-london for a postdoc, I get very nervous when presenting in my language and in front of people I know, and there it'll be in english and in front of many prof and researchers that will be pleased to question me about things that i know little about.:embarass: ...we'll see.

That's great that you're doing that Odworthy. Strange enough I think that teaching would be less stressful than doing a presentation, for me anyway.
