Default Abuse of the Webcam on MSN!

I would like to raise an issue that has been troubling me for quite a

while, involving webcam on msn.I have only been surfing the

internet for maybe 4 months now and was very keen to chat to

new pals on msn,and so was my daughter.I now find myself

avoiding msn for fear of some geezer deciding to flash his bits at me

without warning or consent. And much more alarming is the fact

that it has happened to my 14 year old daughter too, which she

obviously finds very distressing. If the same thing were to happen

in the street,it would involve the police and possible punishment,

after all it is classed as a form of sexual abuse.I can honestly say

when I have been unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end

of this kind of behaviour I have felt nothing but revulsion, certainly

haven't felt comfortable at all.Women in general gain nothing at

all from this kind of bullying behaviour.I think that men should

realise they are achieving absolutely nothing by this behaviour,

apart from making fools of themselves, and the buck has to stop

when it's involving young girls like my daughter!I would like to know

if anybody has other views on this matter.Thankyou

Well it's a bit horrible getting shown guys' parts on msn..I think it's very ignorant when you speak to a guy and he says something like ''wanna see my ****?'' and you say no and he still shows you it. I just tend to block these people..They're not worth the font on the screen..

When I was 14 guys used to show me their 'ahems' on the webcam..And even though I knew it was wrong I just had to laugh..a lot of the time theyre like ''yeah baby i'm so big'' and when you see it, it's tiny..

I guess going in chat rooms isn't a way of attracting good people to talk to.

If you want your daughter to chat to nice people i'd suggest a forum discussion board similar to this one. If she has any interests (tv, music etc) maybe you could have a search for a site like that.
And find one that has good moderators working there..

I wouldnt get too worked up about it.. It sucks but this is mostly what the internet is used for - porn and sex. What can we do - no one 'owns' the internet..

Yeah Shydoll summed it up basically.

Avoid unmoderated chatrooms like the plague.

Yeah i agree what's been said it is distasteful , and basically is flashing, for some reason people think u can do it on the internet wihtout another persons permisson, and well, at the end of the day it's plain wrong and it is abusive and offensive.

Unfortnately, this kind of behavouir does happen online, and well to be frank i have heard this happens on MSN, who have met people from SAUK chatrooms or forums.

As OP's we can't police this and are quite powerless to prevent this abuse on MSN however, therefore should u fall foul to this kind of unwanted attention, the first thing u should do is block them from your msn, then let your chatop , board moderator know the situation where apprioate.

It's happened to a good friend of mine too a few days ago. Why in the world a bloke would think this would further improve his life in some way is far beyond me.

All I can ask, is who the hell have you been speaking to

Most of the people I've spoken to online have been fairly normal.

I refuse to use any webcam program for this precise reason! I've only ever logged onto webcam chat three or four times and it's always the same, for every genuine message/picture, there is a webcam pointing into a guy's lap!

It was quite amusing the first couple of times, but then it just got sad that these guys have nothing better to do and I certainly can find something better to do than encourage them!

Is this someone from SAUK you're talking about, or just someone on the internet?

If it's on SAUK then it's probably best to let board mods/chat ops know who this person is, so others can be warned.

I think camchat on MSN is best left until you've got to know someone well - not just for abuse reasons. You can decline camchat requests, so stick to normal chat for a while until you both want to camchat. If you get visual abuse during a camchat session then either cancel the camchat and stick to normal chat, or end the conversation and block them. Don't let a few idiots ruin your MSN experience.
