Night anxiety
Does anyone else feel terrible anxiety before bed? Im beside myself at the moment! I think its the pain but I feel so panicky when I put the lights out! I guess this is when.you need a cuddle from a partner?

Re: Night anxiety
I usually fall asleep quite swiftly, but wake up around 5am with anxiety when I'm going through periods of general anxiety.

Re: Night anxiety
If I'm anxious about something, it always feels much worse if I wake in the middle of the night - not so at much bedtime.
Perhaps you need to have a few things you can try, such as: -- a nice hot drink - a good book - relaxation exercises - meditation - if you're not living with a partner, a big teddy bear to cuddle - if the darkness bothers you, a nightlight (the more childish the better - e.g. one with bunnies nestling in a hollow tree - I've seen them on eBay - they look comforting) - Music Others here will probably have more ideas. I hope you soon feel better, Angela. |

Re: Night anxiety
Mine seems worse in the early hours, like now. Either I wake up anxious or am still awake but experience a mood dip and feel really sad. Not sure why but 4am often seems a sad, lonely time, even though as far as I can remember nothing specifically bad has happened at that time for me. Must just be the time all those feelings I can avoid or ignore from the rest of the day pop their heads up. Some sick little internal clock maybe

Re: Night anxiety
Yes 4 am is horrible if I wake up. I listen to rain music to calm me down
