Hi folks,
Back after thinking I'd cured myself for a few years. No such luck. Oh I am 44.

I remember being 40 all those years ago - it was such fun!
I'm enjoying being me even now, at times. Not so much sometimes, though! Anyway, faeriefingers, everything will work out just fine. You see! Oh, bye the way, welcome to the group...........

Thumbs up Re: Over 40's?

I keep meaning to grow-up but i never get time! I should at least get a more mature attitude. If my memory wasn't getting so bad I'd remember why! Now, where did I put my slippers..............
I must continue to grow old disgracefully!

I'm 51. I envy younger people who find out they have SA in their youth. I didn't figure it out until fairly recently. Within the past 7 years, I'd say. There wasn't even a diagnosis of SA when I was a kid. I just thought I was strange and defective. And there certainly wasn't anything like a Web site where people could support each other. So I'm glad it will be easier for those who come after -- it won't be such torture. There's a name for it, and lots of information to be had if you look for it, and people to talk with. Much better now than in the olden days of my youth!

Surely it would have been more positive to have put 'golden' days of your youth, dianabell - We had such days I think.
We had innocence still. We had new feelings to explore and exploit - It must have been golden in many ways for you too.
Now these 'young uns' have a label they can wear!
We had knitten cardigans!

Yes, there were golden times, too. (Still are, actually...) But I think of how hard it was to think I was the only one with this problem. I'd rather have a label. I wonder what it must have been like hundreds of years ago, in a little isolated village somehere, and no books or Internet or access to anything. And what if you had something like Tourette's -- and you (and everyone else) just thought you were a one-of-a-kind freak. The torment. But now it's like, there's a name for it, and you know you're not the only one. And it takes away some of the sting. And makes it just a thing that some people get, like diabetes or acne. That's what I meant -- or as close as I can come to explaining it, anyway . . .
