When do you shower/bathe?

Do you tend to have a shower or bath in the morning, or in the evening, or both?!

Or do you do it in the middle of the day or the middle of the night instead?

I voted "I never wash" because I wanted to mess up the stats!

It's usually the morning, if I'm going anywhere, or maybe during the day if I'm not and I don't get out of bed first thing. Often, it's in the evening too, especially in summer (depending on what I've been doing during the day and/or humidity). I used to work in a very greasy plastics factory and then it was at least twice daily. I also shower at least twice daily when I'm travelling too - but part of that is not having to pay for the water or the energy!

Yes it's nice to wash twice a day in the summer but there is the question of the cost of the water and electricity on the other hand.

I shower in the morning before work to - wake me up.

Sometimes in the winter I do it the night before to warm me up, and so I can have a bonus 30 min in bed hehe.

The last time I had a bath, I blacked out!! I kept topping up the hot water and I think I accidentally boiled myself alive.

Baths are so awkward as well. I prefer showers for sure.

I shower every morning. But I sometimes have a second shower in the evening if I've sacrificed a lamb on that day.

I have a shower most mornings but just a wash on Sundays because I'm (usually) not going anywhere and it doesn't matter if I smell a bit.

I shower every morning. I find myself leaving the shower running for an increasingly long time before I can bring myself to get in it though. I don't know why.

I've done this before when I was feeling low and it's like a "if I get in, my day will start" feeling so I'll put it off

But then I imagined Greta finding out, so I stopped that.

It used to be a sensory thing for me, I hated the sensation of the water running over me. I love it now, but still like a bath when I have aching limbs.

I shower every morning and sometimes in the evening if I've done some activity that's got me all sweaty. Morning showers are an essential part of my wake-up routine after two strong cups of coffee. I haven't had a bath in years though, but when I was a kid we didn't have a shower and we would share the same bathwater as a family. Because I hated baths, I was always last in when the water had discoloured and become rather tepid. This of course reinforced my dislike of baths, even to this day. Showers are far more refreshing.

I have a shower in the morning on days I've been to the gym (I only go early morning) and then again in the evening since I go for walks late afternoon, but on days I don't go to the gym I just have one in the evening. Once or twice a week that evening shower will be preceded by a bath since I quite like them too.

I don't understand how people could happily go to bed dirty after a day's activities People always seem strongly one way or the other with this.

I don't think people get particularly dirty while sleeping, far less than how dirty they'd get moving around during a normal day anyway.

I tend to shower every other day in the evening. If its 20+ degrees or i've been excessively warm i'll do it every day.
i'd rather just get up and go in the mornings. I find the simplicity less stressful. Also i prefer the evenings as having a fresh t shirt and bedding to snuggle into at night is one of the best feelings ever.

Men do tend to run warmer at night, whats with that? They get all clammy etc

So do you mean you have a bath then a shower aftrwards? Or sometimes the shower is replaced by a bath? (I've heard some people say they have a shower after a bath because they don't feel that baths are really clean.)

^^ Don't men tend to be warmer generally I know there are times when I have an extra blanket over my side of the bed because I'm cold but my partner isn't.

Yeah, whenever I have a bath I'll have a quick rinse in the shower afterwards.

I have a shower every morning, or should I say upon dragging myself out of bed which on a very bad day can be closer to lunchtime. I'm thinking my daily showering is quite an achievement because I know that when people are very depressed they often don't bathe for days on end.

I haven't had a bath for a number of years which I do occasionally miss. I used to love leisurely wallowing in the tub with steaming hot water coming right up to my chin. Bubble baths were the best. This place didn't come with a bath and when we had a new bathroom put in we stuck to a shower only. Sometimes, while on holiday, I've been tempted to use the bath but then I have visions of the many bottoms that have sat in it and it's always put me off. I'm weird like that.

^ Daily showering definitely is an achievement when you have depression.

IOh dear, I'd never thought about the multiple bottoms in baths in holiday homes or hotels

I find it I shower before bed it’s harder to sleep. Idk about baths though, I don’t do them but know they are usually more relaxing.
