I’ve always washed eggs before cooking with them, which I know is strange, but sometimes they have flecks of chicken poop on them and it freaks me out.

Today I found out that you should never wash eggs because they are pourous. All this time I’ve been washing the flecks of chicken poop into the egg. MAN.

Lesson learnt.

I love it when I find a little feather stuck to an egg. I give it to the cats to play with and it keeps them entertained for hours

About the backwards law. Sometimes not trying to be actually makes it easier to be more effective. It makes lots of sense as the best things seem to come with flow, but not necessarily when you are trying to hard, in my experience so far.

I've been looking at some independent jewellery makers (I like acrylic tat rather than gold/silver/gem earrings).

I kept seeing things labelled as "seconds" on websites, assuming it meant that they're second hand earrings. The thought of putting earrings in my ear that have been in someone else's ear freaks me out - all that ear cheese cross contamination haha eww!

But "seconds" actually means they're an old design that that has been changed slightly for their new line of jewellery.

^^Sometimes seconds means that there is a minor defect. Like it’s been cut slightly wonk or printed off centre that kind of thing.

^ cool! One gal that buy things from always sends cute things that are "imperfect" (or seconds now I know the lingo!) like a brooch where the colours aren't what she intended for the design. It's always a nice surprise. I love it!

^ haha mmmmmm

I miss them so much. They're not suitable for vegetarians. If someone invents vegetarian liquorice all sorts (in particular the coconut rings) life could never get better.

Found out last night that cigarettes are £13 a pack of 20, I was absolutely stunned, honestly thought they were about a fiver. Unbelievable amount.

If the high risk of serious disease and dying prematurely doesn't put smokers off then hopefully the big dent it leaves in their finances will be enough to convince them to give up smoking.

That in certain bus routes the bus drivers seem friendlier. They sometimes greet you, look in your direction as you enter etc.

My new job is in a wealthy area. The route I get goes through wealthy, West London suburbs. A few drivers have greeted me on arrival and even getting off the bus. The one that didn’t still acknowledged when I got on. My friend works near me and also noticed this though he was specific to noticing this on the bus route I am speaking about.

Where I live though I just now notice the contrast. A few days ago it even seemed like a bus driver avoided my eye contact and just looked straight as I paid. I think these tiny things don’t have to affect one but can over a period of time though it’s a matter of perspective.

^ Yes I found where I am rurally the bus drivers are friendly, will stop for you in odd places and be generally quite cheery. I'm always amazed by the contrast with bus drivers in places like Brighton, Crawley, Worthing. Whilst there are some friendly ones most of them are curt and abrupt or indifferent, guess cause it's much busier and perhaps more pressured. And possibly have to deal with more difficult passengers on a more regular basis.

I think that's the key with bus drivers. If they don't have to deal with difficult passengers they're more likely to be friendly.

I used to love the C11 route. Goes through Hampstead, Primrose Hill etc.
Picturesque route, coupled with some nasty looking sink estates. And many a celebrity getting on & off to keep you amused along the way.

When I first moved to a city for uni I used to get the bus. I’d stand there for ages and four or five buses would drive past me and never stop to pick me up. I started wearing brighter clothes and walked to another bus stop further along the road, thinking I had the wrong stop for the route I wanted, but they still just drove past!

Then one day i was talking to this guy about it and he was like, “you gotta stick your arm out.”

I did not know that . Where I live there is just one bus route and the bus just stops when it sees someone at the bus stop.

^ and I didn't know you had to have exact change. Once I wasn't allowed on the bus because I didn't have the correct change. And they'd start driving before people sat down. I fell over a few times

I decided the bus life wasn't for me and used to walk instead in the end haha.

lol I had the same experience way back in the day. About not realising you had to stick your arm out at request stops. Annoyingly most buses I've ever needed in life are only every hour an all.

I've had a few problems with bus drivvers and correct change. The look they give you when you try to give them a 20.
