I reckon I spent about 18 hours walking one day last year and my feet where murder the next day.

Multiple 12+ hour days with a heavy rucksack isn't exactly good for the feet. The hobble around the campsite in the evening was amusing.

Make sure you treat any sore spots right away. Made the mistake of not doing that first long distance walk I did, never again!

I seem to always suffer with the feet. Not sure why, boots seem to fit properly.

I hate the hobble.

Walking around like your knees are shot and like you're treading on broken glass. lol

I had a horrible callus on my heel last year and it took about 8 months for signs of it to completely disappear.

I double up on socks now and I've got some new Merrells to try out and a load of vaseline etc so hopefully my soles won't ache as much and I won't get any hot spots and blisters.

Doubling up on socks only seems to work on one of my feet for some reason. Ended up wearing one thick sock on one foot and a thick sock and a thin sock on the other. Annoyingly I can't remember which was which.

I don't know why but thicker socks make my feet ache more.

You'd think the more cushioning, the better, but my feet feel better when I double up with thinner liner socks.
