^ Congrats! Interviews are so tough, it's a great achievement to even turn up and do it. Try not to analyse it and like you said, see it as practice.

Well done Kafkafan, interviews can be really stressful, especially not having had one for so long.

I rode my motorbike to Portsmouth despite it being worryingly windy, I went and asked about motorbike parking and it turned out it's free, result so saved a lot vs taking my car. I went up Spinnaker tower after arriving late, I stood on the glass 100 metres up with a sheer drop despite my fear of heights. After that I went to a packed costa and got a hot chocolate and read my book then on to a restaurant for lunch. It was busy and upon walking in I get asked if it's just me, I tell the man yes and he proceeds to sit me at a table for 6.. I felt special, no ****s given what people around me thought and the food was good, had a bit of a chat with the waiter then rode home.

God I'm weird, yesterday I was so moppy and hopeless, and yet today i've been in kick ass mode.

Arranged a tour of my local gym and chat with a m/ship adviser for next Monday.
Txt my ex support worker who I bumped into before xmas (he told me to give him a bell to meet for a catch up) to arrange to meet.
Booked a cheap hotel room to stay in at the wkend to visit an old friend. It's more of a sa exercise than anything else as I could easily drive there and back. I've never done such a thing on my own and not at all for 15 + years. I can cancel for free till the last min - so the jury's still out whether or not I achieve this.
Arranged hopefully to go to this Open Minds workshop thing on Thursday (if the Mind lady ever gets back to me re. the venue).
Oh and I booked a health screening thing (still to get the date through) with a local charity that does health screening, bloods, ultrasound scans etc locally for whatever you can afford. Have been wanting to do this for a while.

I should wait in for an electrician more often if this is the affect it has....

I'm still stuck with engaging with facebook. It means posting a pic of me probably and answering questions abt what I'm up to these days and I can't quite get over the anxiety of it

A productive day (socially) I'm starting to feel like a normal person (what ever that is) who does normal, everyday things without extreme panic following me around everywhere waiting to pounce.

Acting class was uncomfortable but got through it. I'm failing like a muther****er but I can see improvements. Handling social pressure a bit better, i'm more out going with the group, more outgoing in general. My personality is making cameo appearances, it's out but not... out out. It goes back in again for cover.

Went into Town, eyes on the look out for nice bums clothes. I went into town to replace a top that didnt fit. Made small talk with staff etc... No anxiety. Got a cheap upgrade on my phone deal with a guy face to face with little to no anxiety or self consciousness. It all sounds trivial! but I would have avoided doing any of this not so long ago, now i'm seeking it out. It feels weird to be able to do normal things and experience calm. I'm not used to it.

My get up and go got up and went along time ago but it's seems to have revisited me like an old friend. It's encouraging.

The next step?.......*scratches chin*

Well....I'm currently sitting in a hotel in Bognor.
The s'morning I was like hmm, I don't know, maybe I don't want to go, in my usual trying to avoid. By the time I'd packed a bag and was going through the door (after several changes of mind) I was literately shaking with anxiety. But once in my car and driving I felt not bad. Check in was a bit agghhh as I couldn't figure how to get in but made it in the end. Have been out for sandwiches and even wandered down to the bar to get the wifi password.

All in all i'm quite amazed at myself. Gives me hope I might be able to manage going on holiday this year maybe.

Sorry I've only just seen these replies - thank you! Well, I didn't get that job but some****inghow I managed to get the one for the 2nd interview I had. Handed my notice in on Friday. Alternating between being excited, baffled and (mostly) terrified!

Well done Mo. I would like to go away somewhere this year but I don't know whether my anxiety will allow it. It would do me good, after the last 4 months! But I don't know if I could face it.

Thanks Yeah if you can manage to I highly recommend it.

I think now after my little experiment I feel a lot happier about going away properly.

Acting class today. Got through it and happy with the way I delivered my speech. Still needs work, I got brain freeze and forgot my lines BUT I started again and spoke like a radiant being. No violent shaking this time.

Slowly slowly I'm getting better, my voice is becoming noticeably stronger, more powerful. My anxiety is turning into a receding hairline. Soon there will be nothing left of that c***. The anxiety doesn't flatter me but it's going. And when it goes completely..... my God watch out.

Some great achievements here - it's good to see that so many of us have had a positive start to 2018 so congratulations to Jason, Tiger, Mo, newbs, Pink*Lady, candlelight and kafkafan (I know your interview was last year, but you handed in your notice this year so it counts!); I'm beginning to feel a bit of a failure in the light of all these successes, I've been standing still for too long.

@Humphrey, I think you deserve a holiday and I hope you can manage to go somewhere; I know it's easy for me to say (as I'm off somewhere at least once a month on average), but the anxiety before travelling is (usually) much worse than being there.

Had a meal in a coffee shop with my partner and brother.
Took my dog in too , she was allowed.
I was anxious about taking her in and she did yap once which was embarrassing but she was good after that.

Also we got under charged for the meal, should've been around£20 but the guy was distracted and charged us £4.20! His fault.
