Bed tester (testing different mattresses overnight at home each week).

Admittedly the weekly changeover would be a bit of a hassle, but would still be worth it if the money was good. Can't find any vacancies online though.

^Yeah I can see that being the ideal job for you, LS. It would give you more time to lie in bed and mind meld with the universe while getting paid for it!

I would also like to be an historian, or a writer of historical fiction. I don't really have the talent to write fiction but I don't see why I couldn't have been a very mediocre historian. I've noticed a lot of history books are extremely tedious and I think they must be a lot more fun to write than they are to read.

It's true- a lot of history books are badly written. Some of them don't even seem to be proofread properly. The proofreader must have fallen asleep. It doesn't inspire confidence. When you do get a historian that can write properly, they can become quite well known.

Do you mean bodice ripping/dare doing stories or fictionalised accounts of real events? I watched 'Wolf Hall' and found it good but dry.

I've enjoyed a couple of series by Simon Schama but i've yet to read any of his books. I'm sensitive to real life gore so I avoid war books and films although i'd have liked to have seen the recent BBC4 Vietnam series.
I bought a History book by an author who comes across as very serious and earnest so i'm curious to see how he comes across in writing.

I already work with animals and although I love my job it barely pays the bills, as is the case for most careers with animals but if money was no impediment I would love to run a wildlife sanctuary.
I would love to come to your Hot Chocolate Café. Can there be a few elderly pooches around as well as the cats?

I would like to write bodice ripping, dare doing cliched genre trash. I think it would be great to be able to spend all day making up daft stories and know they were going to be good enough to sell.

I'd quite like to be a postman.

Get to walk around and listen to podcasts. But I couldn't afford it.

--

I'd be happy doing what I do now if I could afford to do it a bit less.

I do like freelance writing as I can do it any where I can open my laptop and get online.

But if I could earn more so I could do it less I'd be happier.

Working 2.5 hours a day instead of 5 would make it much more fun and a better work life balance.

Gotta get that cash though....

I would offer to collaborate on a Lord Flashman meets Moll Flanders bodice ripping, codpiece biting romp but it would probably earn £40 which wouldn't cover the cost of the fountain pen,ink and paper we would need

I'd like to be an actor (particularly kids theatre and living history/reenactment, educational theatre etc) and an assistant stage manager, I'd like to be a writer in my spare time.
I work at a a theatre... just not any of those roles...

I always liked the idea of being a blacksmith, making medieval armour or weapons for films and the likes, maybe pagan jewellery too.

You get left alone most the time and I'd have arms like Popeye :0

Accountant. I have no idea where it came from. It's my favourite class on my course. I love doing accounts, it's so calming and fun.

To be Christian Grey's secretary.

Or if I'm truely honest, Mathew Perry's extra attentive PA...getting up all close and personal like.

But, if I must be practical- Matthew Perry's shoe shiner.

Or if I must be truely serious, just a general shoe shiner- for like the non God's of this world because I know my place as a 'normal'.

Pffft but this thread isn't about realities- therefore I want to be Matthew's PA, that he occasionally loans to Mr Grey when he's just about had enough of my mediocre shoe shining. Yeah. That's the dream.

In an ideal world, I would love nothing more but to test out games. Or, become a streamer for video games. There would be nothing that I would enjoy more than spending every day on my xbox.

Or watching Netflix shows? I could do that.

I did want to work in education, either as a teacher assistant or learning support worker for a realistic job, though.

As a teenager I had a craving to work at HMV, doing shelf stacking and putting all the the CDs in chart order each Monday. I could have done it if it wasn't for having to meet actual people.
