Society can do with more Mental Health / SA Awareness

Posted 5th March 2016 at 17:51 by Alone.

This clicked in my mind just now as I went to my local Tesco's. This is a post off my head.

This week I started a work programme, I can't say I am well liked there however I haven't felt badly disliked so far and I have been contributing in the classes. I get on okay with some people. It has made me feel that self improvement is very possible for me. I have been super nervous at times in the work programme though, when it was the first day and some breaks. There my anxiety takes over...

Thinking I may go back to my Smartphone

Posted 4th March 2016 at 11:03 by Alone.

It's been a few days since I swapped my smartphone for a dumb phone. The major advantages I notice are better sleep, better focus and better battery, my dumb phone is still at around 75% since the last time I charged it, Last Sunday. I enjoy the fact that I don't have a distraction next to me and can focus on watching TV,reading and doing some work at the library more than when I had a smartphone.

Posted 12th February 2016 at 17:23 by indigo777

I watched The Age of Loneliness tonight which had been on the BBC a couple of weeks ago. It was very sad and had me in tears a couple of times. I hate to see that kind of desperation and sadness. Many of the people were old and alone having lost a partner after many years together. However some were not and of course mental health and social anxiety are key ingredients of loneliness. In fact I can’t really think of many conditions which keep a person lonely for the majority of their life other...

Current Job Review and some New Year Resolutions

Posted 31st December 2015 at 00:39 by Alone.

So I started 2015 in my old job. Whilst I don't regret quitting my old job, I honestly can't say my new job is really better. One thing I miss about my previous job is the rigid Monday to Friday, 9-5 timetable. Whilst my current job was advertised as 20 hours part time I always do 10 hours overtime with 1 hour unpaid lunch, 5 days a week but flexible days so it feels like I don't get as much free time as I get random days off. Job searching online I have found that flexible full time hours aren't...
