I'm waiting for a juicy blog title to emerge/descend, arrive wheresover those inspired thoughts originate.

Awesome title of a book by an American yoga practitioner, Cyndi Lee: May I be happy. Man, that is a great title; part of a well known Buddhist aphorism : May I be happy, may I be whole, may I be at peace.

In metta - loving kindness meditations, this compassionate thought first seeded in the self is then extended beyond: May you be happy, may you be well etc....

Misery

Someone once advised me to stay away from negative and depressing people in case they bring you down to their level. However what if you think of yourself as the negative one? What do you do then? What if you are afraid you will depress other people? Why on earth would you try to meet and befriend people if you know yourself to be depressing and miserable and are afraid of making them depressed too? It’s a vicious circle. Mothers’ day and the first one without her. Tomorrow would have been her birthday as well so I went to the cemetery bearing flowers. Yet still the dreams haunt me. Of trying to keep her alive in the final months, getting her to eat and drink, keeping her warm. Of comforting someone who knows they are going to die soon and they see their own body and mind start to fall apart. Is it enough to just get rid of your self consciousness and become more confident in order to conquer SA? The old just be your self theory. What if you act yourself and people still don’t like you anyway? Do you need to do more, do you then need to change your personality in order to fit in and be accepted?
