Re: Citalopram

Re: Raspberry Pi

Whilst it can do these things, it's going to struggle at times. The raspberry pi hardware is roughly equivalent to a mid/low-end smartphone.
The CPU (700mhz ARM) roughly equates to a 300mhz pentium...

Re: Social Anxiety & Depression

I've had SA all my life, depression only in the past 3 years or so.

But whilst you do not need to be depressed to have SA, it certainly doesn't help in the slightest. They tend to feed off each...

Re: Do you consider online friends as real friends?

Internet friends are just real-life friends you haven't met in person yet :)

The whole stranger-bestfriend slider exists in the same way for both, usually the more often you interact with a person...

Re: What age were you when you got your first girlfriend/boyfriend?

Not entirely sure due to fuzzy memory, but likely 18/19 for first GF.

A lot depends on what counts as a girlfriend though, all mine up until i was 30 lasted a week or less, Two of the four of...

Re: Your experiences of Xmas work dos?

I usually do okay at work xmas dos:

It seems i have a talent for amusing married females for some reason! Not sure how that happened, but it negates the whole 'social-ineptitude' element of SA, so...

Re: Holidaying Alone

Not sure i'm at all helping here, as i feel i'm such a similar boat.

Definitely do the holiday. Like you, i can cope with daytime activities just fine. it's the evenings that suck.

And having a...

Re: Can't do eye contact and its effects

Have it similar myself.

I have two states:
-avoiding eye contact - default behaviour
-i notice i should be making eye contact, so go to 'crazy staring person' mode

There is no behaviour...

Re: How does anyone even have a girlfriend/boyfriend?

It does seem rather odd, but like has been said previously, SA can vary hugely.

I'm similar in that i literally cannot manage a girlfriend no matter what i do*, to the point i've now largely...

Re: Does anyone like using public transport?

They seem to have those signs on busses down in sussex at least. :)

Regarding knowing where to get off on an unknown bus route: A smartphone is your friend here, fire up the GPS and keep track of...

Oh lordy, this x1000

But for the rest:

Pretty much what i expected really... i consider myself a personality type that cannot gain a relationship, yet unable to be happy without a...

Re: Do you tell people?

This is certainly true, i'm certainly a LOT more confident around close friends, sometime embarrassingly loudly (for me) if enough alcohol is applied.

Whether they've actually worked out SA is...

Emotionaly dead in certain areas.

Have noticed this to a certain extent in the past in certain areas.
But i feel like entire sections of emotions are missing for me, though if anything, others are magnified...

Recent example is...

Re: memories of first SA symptoms

This may sound a bit odd, as i have *terrible* memory and odd things seem to have stuck rather than regular things...

IE. earliest memory of school is being taught about Greek 'myths' then...

Re: Could social anxiety make you Asexual?

Now you're making me jealous... I'd love to have a doggie :)

Completely agree there.

But i also feel 'admitting defeat' is the least-worst option here. For me at least, frustration is more...
