Last week i put a load in and when it came out i noticed some grey marks on some of the clothes. I put it down to them getting caught in the rubber seal part because when i checked it had a build up of scum under the flap part.
So i've been looking for how to clean it: basically you set it at it's highest temperature and then let it run through a short cycle (without clothes). My question is: is there anything i could add to the drum or in the draw to aid the cleaning? Just something that most people would have in their cupboard.

I used to have a roommate called Calum who was always overstuffing the washing machine and causing it to fail. When he eventually moved elsewhere, the washing machine was fine again, which just goes to show that washing machines live longer with Cal gone.
