^ well done, Alone

I finished my walk 100 miles in October for dementia UK challenge today. I didn't think I could finish, as I went away this week and it made my symptoms flare up, so I had to have a few days off from walking. When I added it up this morning I was 11.2 miles short, and the longest I have walked since I got ill was 6 miles. But I took some lucazade and crisps with me and kept going and I managed to walk 11.8 miles. It was tough and I'm really proud of myself for getting there.
I think it helps when you have other people on your mind in these things, I was walking for my aunt and uncle who's lives have been affected by dementia. My aunt looked after my uncle for ten years after his diagnosis, but she died recently and he's had to go into care. I didn't think I'd raise much, being very isolated because of SA, but I managed to raise £160 or thereabouts.

Well done on your valiant efforts, Nanuq. A family member of mine had severe Alzheimer's.

My gran had terrible dementia, and it seems like my aunt has it too now. It's a horrible disease, not just for the sufferer but those who care for them. I just hope my mum doesn't get it too.

Well done Nanuq, that's a great achievement!

Well done Nanuq, that's a hell of a lot of walking, you should be proud of yourself.

With all that walking, have you noticed any change in your body composition?

And well done @Alone too.

Thank you. I'm sorry about your Gran and your Aunt. I hope your mum doesn't get it too. My dad has some early signs of dementia but (like my Uncle and Aunt) my mum is very well and is in charge of everything, so they seem to cope ok. He's just very repetitive and has no recollection of telling you something. That's how I remember my uncle being, but I hadn't seen him for two years because of covid and he's got worse since then, he's apparently quite happy in his home, I think some people get very disoriented and upset and some people are quite unaware of what's going on but seem content.

I have done alot recently. I met up with a old school friend I'd not spoken to for years, one of those things you know you can't avoid forever, It went ok but struggled with not feeling good about my life for a good week after, as they have done well in their life.

I went in to a meeting at work without anxiety beforehand.

I accepted a new role and I'm now doing a qualification online, in the first zoom training noone in my group wanted to discuss the topic so I took the lead.

I've accepted my fate of the work christmas party
