Ach well,
I still managed to make my big pot of bolognese sauce last night, Just used about 3 or 4 tins of tomatoes I found in Lidl, Seems like a decent batch that should do me for at least a week, ... Hopefully Mr & Mrs tomato will have returned from their holidays by then? |

because Amazon wants to make lots and lots of money Does anyone else's brain sometimes manage to construe, or "hear" human things from natural sounds? Or is it just that my brain is so damaged that it's doing this crazy thing all on it's lonesome? I was running water through the tap just now and I'm sure it was basically the song from The Sound of Music being played out through the tap,.. "A Spoonful of Sugar" It sounded identical, ......... honestly doctor |

Ebay have offered me another 80% off final value fees. I already have some listings running from the last offer, which was about 2 weeks ago. Will accepting this new offer effect those listings? As in invalidate them. I'm just wary because businesses are utter bastards like that sometimes.

Are parking sensors on new cars pretty much standard now?

Re: Random Questions (3)
I'd say yes, rear ones at least.
Front ones normally only on higher trim levels, so save some extra pocket money Spud. Parking sensors are as important an invention as the wheel itself. |

Re: Random Questions (3)
I thought so. I'm wondering why a neighbour, who's just returned after quite a lengthy absence, has parked like a dick. Almost like how a meddlesome old bint would park. She's got a new car, a '21 plate - a tiny little thing and she's parking quite far off the wall and the car adjacent (side on) - basically in a way that makes it awkward for me and another neigbour from getting out/in. I've got a strong feeling she's gonna cause trouble. And if you can't tell there's a little bit of history

Anyway, you pay your water bill, so I think the solution is probably to report that to Disney. Your water company's getting paid for performing their copyrighted music. That should get them in hot water and then you can wash your hands of it. |

Has anyone ever had a leak detection test done prior to buying a house?

Re: Random Questions (3)
^^ no, never, but I've not reached that stage of buying yet.
Is this a standard thing? Doesn't a surveyor do it? Or are you specifically worried about a leak? |

Re: Random Questions (3)
So, the surveyor recommended getting a leak detection test as there may or may not be a leak in one of the bathrooms (which really needs to be redone anyway) and there is some water ingress in the walls because it is stone. I really don't have a clue what any of this even means, who knew trying to buy a house would be so complicated.

Re: Random Questions (3)
We didn't have a leak detection done on our house before buying it but we did have to have a damp and timber survey done as the mortgage companies surveyor picked up damp marks on the walls in our extension. They wouldn't approve the mortgage until we'd had the damp and timber report done.
Even though I kept trying to tell them that their surveyor missed one vital bit of info in that the extension had a brand new flat roof done less than six months ago...owner had died before getting Internal walls painted. They wouldn't believe me. If you've not got a lot of knowledge when it comes to construction I'd recommend following the surveyors suggestions as it might save you a lot of hassle in the future. Also if you're getting a mortgage and their surveyor picks it up later you'll have to do what we did to get the mortgage approved. I didn't bother with a survey as construction is my job. There's quite a few leak detection videos on YouTube explaining how the process works. It's something I've seen used for finding leaks in Central heating systems but not so much for normal household water pipes but I guess the theory is the same. Empty pipes of water stick a detectable gas in the pipes then go round with a special gadget that beeps when it senses the gas..leak found. |

Re: Random Questions (3)
^Thanks for that, that's really helpful. I'm a first time buyer and I know nothing about anything to do with buying houses so am just bumbling through as best I can. The surveyor picked up loads of little things but I guess that's what you pay them for.

Re: Random Questions (3)
Genovese?
I would have come sooner, but what with still being on my scheduled break Ok, let's get you patched up As good as new! Now just rest for a bit Genovese. Don't worry, I've got this. After all, nobody tries to rough up my bodyguard Although before I go, I don't want you to strain yourself with any gardening. So I will make this post a bit more relevant Question? Why does the rain in Spain stay mainly in the plain? Ok, I will be right back! Laurel? Can we have a quick chat in the conference room please? Genovese? It went as smooth as butter! Or something like that! Hold on! Put those hedge trimmers down Genovese!!!! Question? How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Now if something similar happens again. My advice would be to just take it on the chin. Or in your case, the willy! God damn, Genovese, I love ya! Please don't trim!!! Let me make it up to you: Anyway, moving on I was also going to post in the Barn Thread. But I'm just having problems clucking right now. Although I have come up with a sentence that I like: I'm one of the guys!!!! That's it! It's better than nothing That being said Come closer Genovese! I'm feeling passionate right now! Let me give you a vision of that Rubber Chicken Barn thread Imagine a thread with our own built in entertainment! Where for example, you can click on the Appear channel Although I don't think that Appear wants to appear on it just yet. Which I completely understand But if he did, it would be a great channel to click on. He's very smart. With a very refined rubber chicken. And from what I've heard, a good looking guy. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I wasn't still holding out for a 1980's Dolly Parton lookalike, he would be as dry as a bone right now! But why stop there! Imagine clicking on Jam's channel! Now there's a channel that you would want to click on! I only wish I had his edge! Not forgetting his puns! A good looking guy as well. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I wasn't still holding out for a 1990's Helena Christensen lookalike, he would be as dry as the Sahara right now! Anyway I need to get back to my scheduled break. This was a great meeting Genovese! Or whatever this was! I also want to dedicate a song To the fantastic! The magnificent!! Genovese!!! |
