I don't feel suicidal each day, although I have had ongoing suicidal ideas and ruminations since puberty, in fact.

I could write a lot on the topic, but will summarise here briefly: a sense of being an alien on earth, and of not belonging, or being even capable of belonging to the human project, and a conviction that life, actually, is inherently disappointing when looked at without bias and delusion.

I probably approach things differently to many because I come to ideas of suicide with calmness, coolness, and a rational mind. An act of suicide can be dignified and noble, at the individual level, but our culture only sneers at and degrades it with talk of mental sickness, etc.

^ I agree with you, on everything you have said, I dont think people should say suicide is wrong because I feel that they dont know somebody else's life and what they are going through to get to that point.

Well said, my dear. I completely agree with that. The only reason suicide gets a bad rep is because no one talks about it in a positive way. I, like you, look at it in a very calm and matter of fact way. There's nothing dramatic or sad about it at all. It's an ending that i imagine a lot of people will choose and it should be out there in the open and talked about as much as possible. Not hidden away as some kind of taboo controversial subject.

I agree with a lot of the above comments. No one wants to hear about it. They can't face it.
So when I get messages on my phone saying 'I hope your okay' I feel guilty that I can't say I really don't think I can take much more.

^^ I'm so very sorry Quietman. Like Crafty Elf, I wish I could say or do something to help

It makes me feel incredibly sad that so many folk here are feeling that they don't want to continue with their lives although I can empathise with that feeling of wanting to no longer exist. I just hope that something good can come into the lives of everyone who is suffering and make it worth living.

Mellie and Quietman, I'm sorry for what you're both going through and I hope there's brighter days ahead for both of you. I hold off posting because I'm not good at offering reassurance and I know as someone in the exact same position that when you're in the darkest of pits, words do very little and what you really need is help and IRL support, but I'm thinking of you both and I hope things start to improve.

Feeling so bad today I was going to do something stupid I phoned the doctor but can’t get in for two weeks, I generally don’t no if it’s worth it anymore to carry on or it’s time to say goodbye to the world, I’m not scared of doing it just worry I’ll fail and be stuck in hospital.

^ This is the thing, you could injure yourself and end up in a difficult situation. Have you ever tried contacting the Samaritans when you feel that low? You can always post here, we will all listen to you.

You deserve to feel better and I know you did have some plans, like moving, in the shorter term. Can you concentrate on just taking things one day at a time for now?

^ Oh
I hope the reason Quietman has left is to pursue help and support elsewhere. I also hope he realised how much the folk here cared although I know that isn't a substitute for face to face interaction and friendship.

Hi Guys

I was speaking to a mental health helpline and they said I should rejoin the forum because ive had a lot of support from the members, I left because I was having a really bad day and on that day I was going to take my life, If I haven't had talked to them I would not be here now.

Theres been more drama with my dad, he said my moms had affairs with four men, he took my phone and texted my moms oldest friend about it, so now she wont talk to me anymore its been a horrible time. I hope its ok to come back.
