I changed my username from Antony to Phantomy

Very rough day for me but I made some progress I guess. SSRI side effects full on now so I feel like crap and I am struggling a bit.

Been feeling really "out of sorts" lately, weak, dizzy, irritable etc. Had to work on Saturday. Not having a proper weekend made me feel even worse. Took the day off today. I've been vomiting every evening for the last week but it's only a problem in the evening. I feel guilty for taking the day off. I feel like people will think I'm lazy. I've had too many days off this year. Everyone else is off quite regularly too and don't seem to feel too guilty about it but I always imagine things differently when it's me. We get a certain amount of days off per year and everyone in my department seems to have the attitude that you should just use 'em if you've got 'em. People in the other department don't tend to think like that and are rarely off, and I'm moving to that one next year so I'm worried they'll see me be off a lot this year and be concerned about working with me next year.

Went to the GP. I think I love him a bit. Haven't been to the GP in like two years and it was the best GP appointment I've ever had. In the UK, it's like "ok, you can tell us one problem, you have three minutes, GO. Sorry, that's a separate problem. You'll need another appointment for that," - I understand why, it's just always a bit anxiety inducing.

This was wonderful. Got there, told him my symptoms and how I was worried I had a certain rather serious illness. He didn't laugh at me. Said it sounded like I could from my symptoms. He did two tests to see if I had it. First one came back fine, waiting on the second more accurate test but I feel very much reassured now. He also did a full check up. Tested my blood for all sorts, checked my heart, prodded me a lot, doctory things. He asked me several times if there was anything else I wanted checking or any other worries I had "while I was here" which was nice. A few of the blood tests came back within ten minutes so he talked me through those and gave me a copy of the results. Others will be here the day after tomorrow and he will call me. Turns out I'm rather healthy so far.

He gave me some medicine to help settle my stomach and said in future he could do some allergy tests for me to see if it's because I'm allergic to some kind of food. Of course, when you live in a country where you're (or the insurance is) paying for all these tests, the hospital will be happy to give them to you, but it felt nice, putting my mind at ease. The doctor even gave me his (sort of like whatsapp) name and told me to send him a message if I needed anything.

I've been feeling pretty stressed lately. Got some issues going on. My mind's all a bit messy. Anxiety been pretty high. It's like I need constant validation and reassurance. A few weeks ago I went to my friend's house and everyone there was constantly complimenting me, being really lovely. A few weeks later and somehow I already feel like everyone hates me.

Thanks Phantomy, although I don't think I'm capable of doing any of the things I should be doing that might make me feel better.

Hope the side effects aren't too bad for you

Lonely and vaguely sad. I hate having to lie awake at night waiting for my thoughts to shut off.

I do feel a bit better. I think going to my vol job this morning has helped. Had a lovely surprise aswell when I got there one of the cats had had a kitten. She was due to be spayed! lol, so no one knew she was expecting. Cheered me up a bit anyway. Sat and had a chat with folk too.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

ty Purplesnarf. Yeah, need to look out mine again.

^ jinny when youre not feeling like eating after a bad day with the kids you need to try to eat at least some supper before you head for bed. and during the day light snacks every 3/4 hours, fruit also with lots of juice and other liquids. been there myself. you sound done in. it'll get better but nutrition is very important. visit to the GP perhaps? x

Because I'm super avoidant to the point of never having really done anything and now my current routine is pretty much work, eat, sleep, repeat and I have no time or energy to even seriously think about doing anything (I knew my job was going to go downhill and I thought that might help motivate me to do something about it but I just ended too tired to do anything).

Hayfever beginning to piss me off now - gotta do the doctors next week at some point, that's a must, no point hoping (as i do every year) that it may be milder this year. It's affecting my already low motivation .. i really can't be bothered today.

Completely knackered. This morn was pretty hard going. Down a lot of ppl and I had to leave early. We got a lot done though surprisingly.

Have to go down to the local hospital in a bit to see the matron and look at my dads records to see if I want any of them copied as I may make a complaint. So that's gonna be awkward....

Actually went ok. Think i'm too tired to be panic level anxiety.
She was very nice and I discussed with her what had gone on with my dads discharge back in Dec. I decided not to take copies but we sat and went through quite a bit. She's given me the option of going back any time to get copies or have another look. Need to talk to pals as to how I want to go forward. After talking to her i'm beginning to feel the original care home have lied somewhat. However my feelings regarding the social worker haven't changed one bit. If ever there was someone to complain about it's her..

It's all quite new to me this, I never usually complain about anything!

Warm. Think it's gonna be a muggy day.
I've been down to Sainsburys early bought a load of things I probably really didn't need and picked up my escitalopram prescription. Not sure when to start it really. I have an exam on Thursday and have no idea if I will have any side effects from it. Wondering if I should wait or throw caution to the wind. Or try a couple of days and if I feel weird stop and postpone.
