what was ur favourite toy as a kid?

I was a massive fan of lego and considering I was No 3 of 4 during my childhood (now 3 of 5) I was quite spoiled, but not compared to todays standard it seems!!!

Lego was awesome, I may even have played with it far into an age that I shouldnt have, in fact Id play with lego now if I hadnt have given it to sibling 5 of 5!

When I turned 12 we got a pc and it was championship manager all the way!!! Well until 01/02 then it was pants!

@justcallmephil - Yeah the gameboy was just way ahead of it's time, poke'mon FTW


I can't remember what my favourite toys were at the moment, but I do remember having a skateboard & bike.

ILR - I used to have a blackwidow catapult. Your older brothers are quite harsh, those things can pack a punch (Though I managed to get hold of ballbearings not crab apples )
I think either my dad or nan took it off me though

Should note - I never fired the ballbearings at people!!!!

Christ they packed a punch alright,i think with the ball bearings they was deadly.

Around the same time as the Gameboy. If I remember correctly from playing on my friends GG you had to play it plugged into the mains becuase the batteries only lasted about half an hour

I loved playing with lego and action man. I grew up in the countryside so was often outside playing and exploring.

I'm baffled by the thought that young kids would want things like laptops, Ipods & mobiles, also that parents would buy those items for them as well.

Was anybody else afraid of Wombles? I was scared absolutely witless by them.

I love the silvania familys as a kid, the cute little animals and there houses... I always remember playing with them.
That and barbie dolls.. tho my barbie dolls ended up with no heads, as I liked to flush there heads down the toilet.

Well I was lucky since my Dad likes modelling and creative things too so he helped out. When I was young he even built me a trainset in my room - actually he built two trainsets over the course of my youth. He probably had more fun than I did in building them. lol

I agree its important to get kids to use their creativity. Maybe the government should give an airfix kit to every child. :P

Ahh matchbox...yep had some of those too. I remember I had this car wash, which could spray the cars with water and then spin them dry.

I played with it into my teens and then I found a digital version and built things with that in my early 20s. (hrmm...should give that another go now that I have a faster PC) lol

Triang / Hornby OO trainset, still got 'em all.

Lego, Meccano, Airfix models, balsa wood planes & boats.

Airfix glue, cellulose dope etc. before they were all de-odorised, we were as high as kites and never realised it.

i had this one christmas and it was the best present i ever had, it lit up, made noises and had hidden buttons. it was amazing.
however i only had it a few days as my father got pissed off with the sword noises it made and threw it away. i snuck out later on and went through the rubbish to get it back but once me pa found me with it he was not amused and i never saw it again.
