^ nice one, Merry. You did it! You're so talented

Taking a break sounds like a great idea . Hope you're able to stay in touch with your friend - but I get how tricky this can be when you lose the thing you have in common but I hope you're able to stay in contact

That's great to hear, Merry! MA qualification sounds very impressive to me. And I thought my GCSE in woodwork was impressive. I hope it all goes well for you!

Well done Merry, I know how it feels to be worn out,
No point in putting yourself into an uncomfortable position by forging ahead,
It's good to hear someone being sensible and looking after themselves,

I hope you can keep in touch with your friend on the course,

Would be great to see some of the coursework,

It was, thank you AL I must remember to kick my ass and do more of those walks. I enjoy them, and there's no good reason why I can't do them.

Last week i met my niece for the first time she is 8 weeks old and is the first grandbaby in our family so quite a big event. She's started smiling and smiled at me while i held her for a bit, it was so nice.

Woke up today to the news that I've won a scholarship to do a part-time research masters starting in January, with quite a substantial research expenses/travel costs element included. It feels odd celebrating something that arrived at the same time as other shit news, but it feels good to have something to look forward to. I suppose it's better to be distracted with something that actually affects me, rather than dwelling on things in the news cycle that mostly don't (but still do somewhat, at least to many people I know).

Make sure they'll pay for a smart kettle at any location of your choosing. Otherwise tell em to stick their scholarship up their arse.

Congratulations

Ha, no it's just at my local university Although it will involve travel to Mexico, Japan and... America (although I usually go there a couple of times a year anyway, so not any more than I otherwise would have done).
