It'd be an absolute mess if they were like tweets If everyone started a new thread every time they had a thought in the same way they might tweet, you'd have hundreds of new pages to sift through every time you came here.

^ Now that is also true, if every time a forum member wanted to post a thought or feeling they started a new thread there would be a lot of threads!

Yeah social media can be a bit like that.. either too much or too quiet. I was enjoying the discord server (or rather, the Six Million Zimbabwean Dollar Man was ) but found I jumped on after a couple of days and things had already moved on quickly from what I'd seen. Then I felt I should be scrolling back and.. yeah I didn't find that sustainable. Guess it's one of those things you have to work out what works for you. Horses for courses and all that

My sister asked for a clock for Christmas and I just can't stop the intrusive thoughts telling to buy her this one:

What time is it?
Ten past neck wobble.

I can't stand clocks. When I got to her place I always take the batteries out of her clock otherwise I can't sleep

You've completely Butchered that clock.
I don't like ticking clocks. I suppose I'd get used to them over time, like I got used to the random street noise of the city.

^^ I agree.

My sister is so weird. Christmas is really quite long. 22th, 23rd,24th,25th.26th, 27th, 28th, 29th,30th and she justs to ring my bell tomorrow pop presents in and go. When I'm on my next life I want to be an only child.

^ Maybe she's not much of a fan of Christmas? Or she has lots of people to pop things over to so she can't spend long with each?!

^ Ah, yes people often have a lot of stress and a lot of stuff to do. You could always ask her if she'd like to come in for a cup of tea or a mince pie when she comes over.

Christmas can hurry up and bugger off. Makes no sense to me and I have no interest in it. Feels like the entire country has been taken over by a cult.

it does feel like that. Everyone busy, busy, busy. Roads ram-packed. I just walked 5 miles to my local retail estate. Thought it better than an another f-in car on the road.

Ahh, so that's why there are random shopping trolleys left on the pavements, miles away from shops

I thought shopping trolleys automatically turn their brakes on if they leave a certain distance from the store

^ Some do. Depends how rampant theft is in the area and if they can be bothered to pay for the fancy ones.

I always think it's a shame that it's not socially acceptable to sit in a trolley and be pushed around whilst you do your shopping as an adult.

The stress people claim to feel around Christmas always strikes me as a bit fabricated/played up to. Like people walking to work with a coffee in their hand. There's something a bit fake about it.

People shopping for presents on Christmas Eve - as if Christmas has come as a calendarical surprise this year.

Christmas is defo something that is as stressful as one makes it ior allows it to become.

I think i am depressed. I’m wanting to get a diagnosis to get treatment and take a break from working. I don’t know if that is wishy washy thinking. I think I’m a hard worker, most people seem to say but then i don’t usually bond with most people. I’m probably also toxic.

It would be hard in a way if i quit work and for a depression diagnosis, especially because my family judge me as okay only when I’m working. But then i think i have to let go of their opinions if it hasn’t helped me a because according to them i should also be married and have kids but i know that that wouldn’t be the best with the state I am in. They don’t seem to ask why i am not married or doing a uni degree.

^^ maybe I'm ADHD but I find it hard to give a crap about things until I'm really stressed about them, and even that doesn't always help.
I'm always hoping I'll come up with some great Christmas present ideas but it never happens, so I half-arse it at the last minute. I'd rather just not bother with the entire season.

Christmas is such a difficult and stressful time of year for so many reasons: grief, illness, split families, loneliness, financial pressure, social obligations, and it's one of those times of year that can be especially difficult with anyone with suicidal thoughts, instances of domestic violence rise at this time of year as well. It's one of those times of year where so many things happen that are out of anyone's control so understandably stressful.

The thing that stresses me out is the cooking for other people side of things because I'm just so scatty and can't seem not to be. It always turns out okay but the process... stressful haha
