If anyone enjoys word puzzles you might like this game called Wordle. It's kind of similar to a word ladder but you just have to guess a five letter word to start and go from there

I've loved this for the last couple of weeks, but after today's (5/6 - it was a stinker) I decided to quit. Otherwise when would I? When it gets monetised? When the creator takes it offline? When I eventually get bored of it? I try to stay away from things that don't have an end.

Good game though. I know it's far from an original idea for a puzzle, but I guess having just one word a day to give people something to talk about is what makes it special.

5th go. That was tricky.

It wasn't obvious what the rules about repeated letters were. In my first four goes I just got it down to A__E_ but I had very few letters left that made any sense with those restrictions.

There's a strategy in Scrabble of hanging onto letters that make up the word STRAINED - i.e the most common letters in the English language. Therefore my first guess is always a word made from some combination of these letters. (Sorry, my mum used to play Scrabble competitively in a league and she taught me a lot, my head is filled with this nonsense!)

Got today's on the 5th go, it was a bit tricky!

I've been a right egg-brained Norman. Up till now when I've seen people showing their Wordle results, I've thought those coloured squares were the puzzle I thought, how's everyone guessing words from random colours, I don't get it.

Then today I realised what Wordle actually is, and got it on my third guess
