I don't know how long the wait time will be. If we could afford to, we'd go private

Re: How are you feeling physically?
I had the AstraZeneca vaccine this morning and now I feel a bit strange, like I've got some sort of skin rash but it's not really visible, just this kind of itchy uncomfortable feeling.
It could just be being over-vigilant to my body state. |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
I'm suffering with the pains in my legs and feet as always. It's so much worse at night.
It will be 10 days since my blood test so I shall phone the Surgery tomorrow to see if my results have come back. Not that I'm expecting the test to have shown anything up because if it had then surely the Doctor would contact me or at least you'd hope they would In the meantime, I've read that people with circulatory problems (which I probably don't have, but can relate to) should walk as much as possible because it can help with the pain. Therefore, I've been walking for an hour at a time on the treadmill. It's as boring as hell, but watching Hell's kitchens while I'm doing it helps. I'd prefer to go for a proper walk outside (fields and trees are a lot more interesting than Gordon Ramsey) but my husband is working and I don't have the confidence to go out walking alone. So far I am experiencing no pain relief in my legs from the walking but maybe that's because I've pulled muscles that seldom get used so I shall stick with it. |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^ It's pretty much all the way up my legs but slightly worse from my knees down. I've suffered with terrible restless legs for a number of years so I don't know if the pains are linked to that
It would be good if I could just chop my legs off |

So glad the gyms are open again. I nearly always feel much better after a workout. I wish I could go every day and they weren't always so busy.

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^^ You sound like my son Tonkin. He lives for the gym these days. A workout obviously has huge benefits not only on physical health but mental health too. Plus it's a good place for a little social interaction.
@ Kooky Monster - Ah was it my silent reflux that you diagnosed? It could be a pinched nerve that is causing all this pain, so I certainly wouldn't rule it out. You are better than my GP Dr Kooky, but that's not saying much |

Grrr, just phoned the Surgery for my blood test results as I was told to do after 10 days and they still haven't come back. The receptionist said try again Tuesday but I won't hold my breath. Someone please just shoot me

I think I'd have been shot by now if I was a horse. I'm fed up of being in pain all the time, shame we cant just plug ourselves into a diagnostic computer like they do with cars. |

Every morning I usually feel awful,
nature seems to be mocking me with this physical body, It's worn out, clapped out, and in need of repair, and my brain seems even worse, not fit for purpose. I guess old age doesn't come alone? |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^ I phoned on Monday (a week after the blood test) and the Receptionist said the results take 7 to 10 days to come back but things are slow at the moment because of Covid Then I phoned again today and the Receptionist said if I phone on Tuesday she will download the test results. I don't even know what that means
The longer this all takes the longer I have to put up with the pain and can't move on to the next step of finding out what is causing it. I know other people have far worse than me to cope with but the constant pain is making me feel so miserable. |

Well, I phoned the Surgery again today as I was told to do so last week....and....the blood test results still haven't come back! It's now over 2 weeks since I had the test.
Apparently the receptionist is trying to contact the Hospital but it's starting to look as if it's been 'lost'. |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
Thanks Percy, Mo and Kooky Monster xxx
Kooky Monster, I haven't considered going to A&E because I feel that there's other people with far more deserving problems that the Doctors need to be focusing on. Although the pains are non stop, day and night, whether I exercise or rest, in the back of my mind I know that the blood tests won't show anything up because nothing is ever that straightforward and simple, at least not for me. If it wasn't for my beloved son, husband, and very ill mum it would be a relief to call it a day. With life long mental health issues and now more and more physical issues coming onto the scene a state of nothingness sounds like a blessed relief. Please don't quote |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^ Your surgery really doesn't sound good, to put it mildly! I really hope you can get an answer as to what's going on soon because no wonder you are feeling so bad, being in constant pain.
Do you have to have the blood tests done again or are they going to try and "find" them? |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^ I phoned the Surgery again today and the Receptionist said that she is still trying to chase up the results, just as she told me when I phoned yesterday. She said something about the bank holiday slowing things down. Last week she said Covid was slowing things down. I don't think I can stand going back to the Hospital for a second routine blood test if they are going to be so careless with the results. It's not the first time they've messed up. Our Surgery is so bad it's in special measures but it seems that in this case it's the Hospital that has 'lost' my results, that's if they even tested it in the first place.

Re: How are you feeling physically?
Its bonkers how bad the hospitals and GP surgeries are in contact with each other.
I had such a farce with my CT scan results, speak to GP surgery...oh I don't know anything about it, try the hospital..oh I don't know anything about them, maybe your doctor will have them? My actual doctor hasn't seen me once for my current issues, I assure you he doesnt have them! I finally made some progress with the cardiologists secretary and asked if possible when sending a letter to the doctors if I could have one too. Two weeks later I got a 1 line letter addressed to both me and my doctor...its very 1990's! It's when you go private and unless the private doctor/specialist makes any effort..the NHS never knows anything about it. I still remember my doctor being confused that I'd somehow had a colonoscopy..even though I hadn't had my NHS referral yet. I'm still struggling so I sent another econsult email thing, I'm expecting something very uneventful tomorrow, possibly denying all knowledge they have had my CT scan results..or they will be sending the white coats out to come and get me. I had to select symptoms, I tried palpitations but that just said dial 111 immediately (which is kinda dumb, I've had this for 8 months, I'm not going to drop dead tomorrow)..so I had to pick panic/anxiety..they probably think I'm about to top myself |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^ I wondered how you had been getting on Toxic
It is totally bonkers isn't it! I hope you get something sorted at some point during this decade Like Nanuq said, the breakdown of communication between Gp's and Hospitals has become alarmingly bad especially in certain areas. For some people, such as someone with cancer, receiving quick results could quite literally be a matter of life and death. Life seems to be taken up with constantly chasing people up. If it's isn't health care professionals, it's electricians, or plumbers or.....it's simply never ending.....and stressful for everyone but even more so for the socially anxious when chasing people and making a fuss doesn't come easy |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
Actual Cock
I apologize that I'm ignoring other peoples problems and just ranting about myself..but for **** sake. My doctor rings me up at 7. So I see you've been having problems and its your heart. You saw a specialist privately? Yes that was January He suggested an MRI? so can't you wait to have that? ...But I had a CT scan in Febuary? 10 minutes of, but why did you have a CT scan. they are rubbish..they havent even looked at your heart, this letter only mentions the aorta and lungs, if your heart is knackered..the CT scan won't show any of that. To my confusion I pointed out that I did have ECG leads on and had a contrast dye so I'm sure they must have glanced at my heart! No no no, I think you should have an MRI..I mean what else do you want me to do? you've already seen the top dog, all I would be able to do is send you to the cardiologist, let me try and find out why you havent even had the right scan..give me a week or so..BYE I feel like I'm back in January, I've spent 3 months fretting over test results that wasnt even looking for the right thing? the way he spoke its like I've had an x-ray on my foot. I am beyond deflated. I only wanted to look at potentially getting some help with anxiety, by the sounds of it theres no such thing and its back on my heart. |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^^ Gosh your Doctor is keen if he's phoning you up Toxic.
I'm guessing if your Doctor is wanting to refer you for an MRI then that's a good thing, isn't it, if it's finally going to put your mind at rest? I mean, you have to beg the GP's where I live for any medical tests and even then it mostly falls on deaf ears. I'm sorry if I'm coming across as a little slow and confused here. It does all sound so very confusing though and it's no wonder that you are at the end of your tether I hope you soon have the proper test on your heart and finally get some much needed answers. Hmm, I'm sure I was saying something a long the same line weeks ago. You've got to laugh I phoned the Surgery yet again today, and guess what? The results of my blood test from god knows how long ago still haven't come back. Apparently because of Covid, and last weeks bank holiday there's a BIG back log, blah blah blah, so I should try phoning again next week. Ffs, if the blood has been tested (and surely it was tested very shortly after it was taken from me because it deteriorates quickly) then the Hospital can just click send and the results will reach my GP? Or is that way too simple? I'm starting to think that my blood was never even tested or that the results weren't ever recorded. If I wait forever those results aren't going to make their way to me. Meanwhile, the pains in my legs are driving me nuts and I'm no closer to finding the cause than I was over 2 weeks ago. After my husband pleadingly told the Receptionist that I'm in considerable pain and need help, she finally said that I can see a GP over the weekend at some different Surgery. Apparently it's not so I can get my blood test results or even have a new blood test but so that he/she can look and maybe give me some stronger painkillers. Argh, I don't want stronger painkillers! I just WANT to know what is causing the pain. My legs just look like an ordinary pair of legs - you can't see the pain - so I don't know how looking is going to solve anything I just want my blood test results back |
