A bit frightened of how the world is.

It's hard seeing people i know with really close/best friends that they've known for ages and have that bond. Always there for eachother and care about one another. Makes me sad that it hasn't happened for me. Probably would have happened by now if it was going to. I honestly thought as i got older and moved to a city, that it would expose me to more types of people that i would have more in common with but i still find it hard to put myself out there. I'm such a loner/drifter.

I keep fantasizing about moving out of this town to a city and making friends, forming a DnD group, stuff like that, but I feel like I'm probably putting all my eggs in a basket and that won't really happen. It's just so hard to get over the anxiety.

I've had friends I've made online, but we've drifted apart. Only a few were genuine and it makes me sad that I'm left behind. Like what's the point. I've been thinking about it a lot lately.

As it stands right now, I don't have any RL friends here since I've moved. I have one good friend from the US that I keep in contact with, but even that's fading. :/

I last posted in "11th July 2009". has it really been that long? How am I doing?

Well it's been a few years, fell in love with and married a lovely lady by the name of Jane who 'noticed' me on SAUK. Were together for 16 years until March when she died of cancer. I had many health issues, had protracted withdrawal from Paroxetine for several years, nearly died of pancreatitis and was in hospital for three months and have fibromyalgia throughout. I don't think I would have made it through without the help of my lovely wife.

On the plus side we were living in a horrible flat on the third floor, now I'm living in a better ground floor flat with a garden. So I've taken up gardening when I can manage it.

I sometimes wonder how all the people I met from SAUK those many moons ago are now.

I wish you SAers all well.

Stressed, but trying to hide it. I actually might ask for opinions on what to do here...

I'm going to put it under a spoiler just in case.

Umm... Just found out last night that I guess one of my husband's coworkers has threatened to set a gang to jump him? But, it's technically hearsay because it's a family friend that told his sibling and in-law about it (he used to be the manager of the store he works at). The coworker is a young lady who is crazy and creates a ton of drama there. Even worse, she's a high position there so it's hard to do much against her (even though all of management there acknowledges that she's a terrible worker and that she creates drama). She got in trouble recently for being late (?) and blames him for it even though it's her own fault, and that's why she wants to "set up boys to jump him" for it. It's just, wild.

I'm scared to mention more of what's happened w/ her before, but if anyone is curious I guess you can PM me.

He's not worried of anything happening to him, and logically I do agree... But it still scares me a bit. He's going to try to get more info about it tomorrow and see what he'll do about it. To be honest, with everything that's happened there he wants to quit, but he's trying to move up first so he can have that training under his belt for future CVs and whatnot.

I'll wait until after he talks to her I guess, but should I call up citizen's advice about this on what to do?? I'm worried he won't do anything, and because of that if something does actually happen then there won't be a paper trail going, you know? I just hate sitting back and waiting for what will happen next... Like, this is a threat towards him that was made indirectly... So IDK how he or I could even prove that something was said about him, but maybe if we could file a report or something?

My husband is a big guy though, and quite strong so I don't realistically see anyone messing with him... But if someone could have a weapon, that's scary and I'm worried about that.

Were they being serious or just saying that because of her nature? Or did she say it in a throw away way and it's been passed down to different people? Does she actually know anyone who would actually jump him?

Wait and see what she says to him when they talk. It might be something that's been blown out of nothing.

If he wants a paper trail he could email his boss to say there's been a rumour going around about it and what should he do?

There's no harm in getting the police involved if you really think your husbands in physical danger SpectralOwls.

^^ starting things a little later on can be great because we can take a bit more to time to think about what we'd like to try. Whenever I think that I should have done x, y or z I try to be kind and patient with myself. Anxiety is all consuming and it's really hard to do things with racing thoughts, panic and physical symptoms.

Are you receiving any support at the moment to help you manage anxiety? That could be the first step, to speak with someone to help you with understanding anxiety and learning how to live through it.

Thanks for the input. <3 I'm putting this under a spoiler too just in case it's a bit heavy handed (mentions of racism this time), and to hide this a bit. Just FYI I may end up deleting these posts, I get way too worried that it'll be searchable even though I'm trying to keep it vague. :/ But it is all really stressing me out seriously...

So I didn't mention this, but there's kind of an element to racism about it that's a bit complicated to explain. I imagine that it's not what most people would think either. My husband is Bengali, and this girl is Pakistani. To explain more from what I've learned from him, there is a bit of a feud between both people because of the Indian war, so there is a lot of racism and xenophobia between the people, and I expect this is why she is targeting him rather than his white colleagues (the ones who are actually doing the most against her, and it's not for racist reasons either -_-).

Alternatively it could be that or kind of like "Why are you on the white people's side rather than ours?" because it was brought up on the phone call he had with his ex-manager (who is Pakistani and also friends with the girl - he's the one relaying all of this info to his family and him). He basically said "Why are you helping white people before her? You should treat her better, they can take care of themselves." It's so stupid and messed up honestly.

My husband is just trying to work *at a grocery store.* A freaking grocery store. He's moved up to a managerial status on his own very quickly, whereas from my understanding she did favors to move up under the ex-manager. :S He's on good friendly terms with everyone else and to be honest, she hates that. She makes herself the victim even though she is lazy and doesn't do her work. All of the other managers are stressed out about it.

I'm really overprotective of him, because if anything were to happen to him then I don't even know what I'd do with myself... Like, just the thought that it could happen scares me a lot and I start crying.

He tells me not to worry. He is going to talk to her today. He does strongly believe that she is just blowing smoke, and I realistically think so too, but it's hard to not be worried (it's just my nature). From what I've talked about with him, it does seem like she's cornered now since a lot of her co-workers have left and she is pretty powerless without them, so her lazyness and whatnot is being watched more carefully. She also kind of played her hand when she made a really extreme lie about the previous manager (I won't say what it was here but it's pretty bad), so she can't really ever do that again.

I just wish she'd leave honestly. I was going to actually work there myself, but with all this stupid drama I feel like I shouldn't.

I'm still feeling a bit miffed about how i found myself waking up on the sofa. I don't remember putting myself there. I definitely went to bed last night because my phone was on the bedside drawer. I didn't drink an awful amount - i remember deciding to go to bed.

I'm feeling okay now. My husband talked to the coworker and she gave a very two-faced lie of an answer like "oh nooo I didn't mean that, I don't have a problem with you tee-hee." Like yeah, whatever. She knows she is under a microscope now and is sucking up to the new manager, but they all know that she isn't going to get off easy for things anymore. I'll just keep hoping that she leaves or something, but I'm so mad at the things she's done there.

In better news: Finally got around to picking blackberries. :D I went around a trail behind a neighborhood and picked a bag full of berries. Going to make smoothies with it tonight.
