Did you go in the end? I always love the idea of wild camping, but I've never done it because I fear in practice it would break someone as delicate as me

Though I guess it would just be the toilet situation that's the main issue and I have been camping many times before.

Worrying about wrist. Have had pins and needles like sensation in it since surgery and not sure if that's normal :/ don't know if I'm worrying unnecessarily or not :/

What a waste these two weeks off have been. I've spent most of it waiting around for my old car to be fixed and now I'm waiting for call to tell me my new one is ready to pick up. Oh well, at least I've got a Dillinger Escape Plan gig to look forward to tomorrow and then a mini road trip over the weekend.

I need to get out of my flat a bit more. I feel like I'm going stir crazy. My Mum came over today and having that socialisation has really tired me out. The transition from full-time recluse has happened. I never used to feel like this. Ugh I'm tired of my shitty life.... and moaning about it.

I don't think it's going to be a very pleasant bike ride to work tomorrow.

How I can't just stand by and see my friend made homeless by his parents

I cannot believe that they can be so cold and unsupportive, how can they see their own son on the streets? It's so wrong.

His local council don't give a shit because, like me, he's single and under 35
What has this country come to when we shell out billions of pounds in foreign aid and let people in from all over the world but refuse to help our own?

I certainly don't feel proud to be British today and I feel a total failure as a friend for not being able to anything to help.

Fun evening in A and E. x.x Turns out nothing to worry about, just normal aftermath of surgery, residual effects of nerve block and a slightly too tight plaster cast which is rubbing against the side of my hand. What a rigmarole to find that out though. Should have just gone to A and E this morning, not bothered with ringing the ward and them sending me to the GP. Reassuring knowing it's normal. Got an appointment at the fracture clinic on Friday (follow up wasn't going to be for another week). Nice to know it's normal to still be feeling exhausted after the operation as well.

Can't wait to have all this over x.x

He's actually in Kent, a google search of local homeless facilities has only turned up a day centre, so presumably at night you have to take your chances.
I'm very worried about something happening to him tbh.
Of course if I wasn't such a failure at life I would have my own place and could offer him a sofa to sleep on, but that's sadly not an option.

Its ok if you're a woman with kids , they'll friggin house you straight away or if you got a disability ,theres probably organisations that will support you but theres nothing for single men.
On the other hand , don't think i could have him with me, he's quite difficult to live with.
Yes sadly single males are bottom of the list when it comes to social housing and welfare, tbh I do wonder if some women pop out babies just to get further up the housing list (almost certainly the case with my cousin)
If I had the option I would let him stay here until he gets something sorted.

Could you contact some place like Shelter to see if they could advise your friend? There might be ways they can help to prevent them from getting to the stage of sleeping rough.

@ D1662. I've had a look online and came across porchlight in Kent, which looks like it could be helpful for your friends situation. I hope he manages to get something sorted.

Wondering if anyone actually has those buttons from Amazon you can press to have toilet paper delivered. I don't get it. You can't be in that big a need for it if you're willing to wait for next day delivery. If you desperately need wiping, tomorrow might as well be next year.

OK. So you're a busy person who doesn't have the time to pop round the local shop for some bog roll. You can't log in to Amazon and order some manually? You need a special button just for arse wipes?

If someone ever tells you they love you, take it with a pinch of salt
And if you ever tell someone that you love them, make sure you actually mean it!

Saying those words too soon can cause a lot of heartache and pain for the person who believed them to be true.
