^ nope. I'm often out and about in the sunshine with exposed skin, so I presume I'm getting enough vitamin D.

Why has there been a mass walk out on sauk this month? Is everything connected? Or everything separate and a coincidence?

^^ See, i don't know what's enough - there's quite a few factors to take into account. But if you barely expose yourself to it during the course of a day then you probably ain't getting enough... which happens to be my situation of late.

^ It says online 10-30 minutes of direct sunlight several times per week.

I'm not sure how many times 'several' is worth. I only recently learnt that several doesn't mean seven times. So I've rejected it as a unit of measure because it doesn't make sense if it's not seven times.

Are you going to start your walks up again now the weather is normal summer weather? I wonder what happened to the alpacas you used to see. Turned into jumpers, scarves. socks and burgers - no doubt.

Ahh'kay. It doesn't seem enough. Several is more than 4 ... i think. Couple, few and then several. It's a vague amount, no more than 8, but no fewer than 3 ....... is what i'd say it was. I quite like saying it when i've got occasion to, which may so occur several times a week

Yeah, i really ought to. The whole working fulltime thing has taken getting used to and the summer.. being hot. Not the right time of year for it.

^ I can't cope with several and its lack of specificity. I've crossed it out of my pocket dictionary.

-------/////------/--------------//--/-------

Does anyone have dry skin on their feet? My heel is a bit dry. I've tried a foot peel. It hasn't really made a difference. I went to a chiropodist and she said she couldn't really do much as it wasn't dry enough. (Alright, Goldilocks...)

So I tried a metal nail file and that sort of worked a bit.

What do people do to combat their dry heels?

I had some heel cream prescribed by the nurse at my doctors surgery but the name escapes me. My heels were cracking and bleeding but I do a lot of walking and have never really taken care of my feet.

When it ran out I bought some +K Technology cream and I now use that and a foot file, but don't be too vigorous and remove too much skin as I did when I first started to use said file. It's painful.

I soak my feet in warm water for a bit, then use the file and finally put on a load of cream and put my legs up on a footstool with the feet hanging over the edge until it soaks in. You don't need to do this every night. Once or twice a week is sufficient.

On the other nights, I just slap on a load of cheap aqueous cream that was a couple of quid for a big tub from Savers.

The +K stuff is much more expensive and I use that more sparingly.

I'm naturally lazy and don't always keep this regime up and they soon return to dry and cracked again. When I do maintain it, there is a big difference.

Thank you. I think I'll have a good old file after work, have a foot bath and then moisturise them.

Usually I wear socks all the time, so perhaps it's the shock of being naked and in the sun that is drying them.

Seeing this or intersex people makes me feel like gender is non-binary in a way.

It makes females and men appear more human in my mind as i see their gender less.

I feel that this applies to a lot of things about people. We are probably more similar to each other than we think.

How do you learn to see humans as humans?

Does anyone else recognise when tea bags 'go off'? A guy at work drinks a different brand from everyone else. They come from an opened box stored in the cupboard - big box of 500 or something. I don't believe he uses them often because when a round of tea is made people use the regular one's for everyone. I think the only time they're used is when he makes a tea for himself. Anyway, i use his every now and then because i've got the same brand at home and i said the other day that i thought they tasted a bit off. He reckoned no because tea doesn't go off and someone else said the same. Having a quick google says around 12-18 months and your good. I'm sure they're off but that must mean they've been there for a long time.

^ have you been able to have a sneaky little look at the expiration date on the box?

Tea always seems to taste different wherever I have it. Sometimes it's the water used or the milk. Sometimes it's how people make it. Sometimes it's because people haven't descaled the kettle.

Since I had covid I don't really like tea all that much any more!

No. I will do though, we need to mount some hard evidence for this case

Hmm, well we can rule out milk and water as it's all the same (same region, semi-skinned). Maybe the kettle, though it's in similar condition as mine; old, bit of limescale.

My taste for tea has changed a little since covid

^ that rules out a lot of taste tainting factors. keep us posted on whether it's in date or not. Is the cupboard near a sink? Is there potential for moisture to reach the bags? Is the flavour escaping because they're not in a lidded box?

As you have the same bags at home can you put some in the cupboard for two weeks and see if they too become flavour impaired?

Oh, that is interesting that you're the same. I wonder if it's the same for others too. I feel like I'm having to retrain myself to like tea again. I have a few sips and can never finish a cup.

I'm digging this from Lidl at the moment though. It tickles my tongue in a god way.

Yeah, kinda ruined the fun of the investigation there, didn't i I suppose i could allow a little doubt with water and milk, for the sake of it - let's not rule it out just yet. I did think about dampness already. The building is prone to mould during the colder months, of which i haven't yet experienced. I'm sure those tea bags would have been there through last Winter at least (so there's something to tantalise ya!). Yes, there is a water source nearby - no sign of any issue there though. The box is open but with a lid.

Oh, cool. I usually grab a box of plain rooibos. I'm a bit blinkered with food shopping, so i'll try to remember to see whether those are available because they look good.

Is the the lid of the box always closed? Does the box look intact - any signs of moisture. You know how cardboard goes all wavy when it's been damp. Does the cupboard smell?

Phase two of the investigation: sniff the cupboard

They're delicious, you won't be disappointed

My question is:

Does anyone know a good place for loose leaf rooibos teas?

The lid is always closed and shuts quite snugly. The box, from memory, appears to be in good condition with little imperfection - it's no beauty but looks like it's doing the job well enough.

I shall smell the box when no one's looking I'll have a root about the cupboard too, check for any sign of damp or suspicious articles.

Have you tried Amazon... ? Yes, i said it. There's a company that do a big range of herbal teas called Gaiwan. I tried a few of the rooibos one's long ago - might've posted them up here sometime. They were decently priced and never disappointed.

I've just checked and they do have their own website.
