What are your favourite podcasts?
Podcasts are probably the main way I consume media these days, and just wondering which ones you listen to and looking for ideas for new ones.

Re: What are your favourite podcasts?
Welcome to Nightvale, though it's been a looong time since I've listened in. It's not the common "talk around the room" kinda podcast though, but more like story telling. :]

Re: What are your favourite podcasts?
The only podcast I take an interest in is "This Week In Retro" and I usually watch it on Youtube (it has a video version) so I'm not sure if that counts. It's about old computers, games and things and is part of the RMC (once Retro Man Cave) cinematic universe.

Re: What are your favourite podcasts?
Most people I know listen to true crime podcasts but that would give me bad dreams and make me jittery at night!
What sorts of podcasts do you listen to jam? Do they have genres or types? I have to confess I don't know much about podcasts at all! But I have Spotify so maybe I'll try and find one and report back. |

Re: What are your favourite podcasts?
I mainly listen to MMA podcasts.
Luke Thomas Dan Hardy Jack Slack It's really shocking to me how much detail they go into when describing the sport, like breaking down and analysing techniques, fight tactics, the differences between the multiple disciplines of martial arts and styles, training methods, etc. When I listen to them I give it the attention it deserves. For boxing, I like Teddy Atlas's podcast. I find it hilarious at how outrageously hyperbolic he gets about sh*t. Outside of MMA I listen to Lex Fridman I really like Hip Hop Saved My Life by Romesh Ranganathan (though hasn't been updated for a while) Sometimes Joe Rogan Philosophize This Few others. I get so much joy from listening to podcasts while lifting weights, cooking, or commuting. |

Re: What are your favourite podcasts?
These are the ones I've been binging most lately:
The Cryptid Factor is fun, ostensibly about cryptozoology but usually 99% silliness. Oh No Ross and Carrie - investigating pseudoscience etc Shadows at the Door - dramatisations of spooky stories with great voice actors, but the 'drunk ghost stories' episodes are probably the best Behind the Bastards - deep dives into crappy historical or current public figures, depressing but interesting too The HP lovecraft literary podcast - started off about Lovecraft but now they talk about all kinds of weird fiction, not in an overly serious way. Completely Arbortrary - tooth rotting wholesomeness and facts about trees. Quote:

Re: What are your favourite podcasts?
Johnny Vaughn
Marc Maron Adam Buxton Get Sleepy I really need to do a search for other podcasts because i haven't done that for a long time and there are better things to listen to, i'm sure. Johnny Vaughn is still quite amusing and has a weekly show. Marc Maron used to have an interesting guest at least once a month but it's been dire for a long time and i haven't downloaded anything of his for a while. Adam Buxton usually has interesting guests but is sporadic and sometimes won't have any updates for months. Get Sleepy is a 'meditation' thing to aid sleep that i use every now and then. I usually listen to radio (LBC, Radio 4 or 5Live) but a podcast is better if you'd rather have control of whatever it is you want to listen to. Audiobooks are the other option, though obviously lengthier. |

Re: What are your favourite podcasts?
I set aside some time to try out a few podcasts of various genres to try and find what I like. I don't like any of them. It's because I want to participate in the discussion too! I struggle to sit and listen and not be able to join in.
I think I'd love to make a podcast! |

I always think that you and Appear off of sauk would be an amazing podcasters. It would be so cool if sauk radio became a thing again. Although I’m not entirely sure what sauk radio entailed. |

It is indeed pretty depressing, and kind of chips away at the little faith in humanity I have. But it's very listenable and light, in a sort of 'Wow, our species really is a blight on the world, lol' way. So far I've found a lot of the guests a bit, for the lack of a better word, cringe, though. The host will come out with all this well researched info, and they'll respond with the most boneheaded comments. |

Re: What are your favourite podcasts?
I've started listening to one that I can't remember the name of .. haha I need to look..
Marianna in Conspiracyland It's quite serious compared to what I usually listen to, but it's interesting. Marianna is very calm and she delves into The Light newspaper. |
