Thanks Jen, Consolida and Dougella for all the ideas above there great .
We were so stuck on sorting out dates, locations and venues that we didn't get round to content! but have noted all the ideas for when we next sit down and work them out.

What is the point of taking a selfie in the mirror with your phone covering half of your face?

What type of random interactions with strangers do people take for granted?
Such as asking for directions, or ordering a coffee etc.?

I'm to think of some ideas for my therapy, she wants to role play some scenarios with the hope that I'll actually be able to do them one day However I can't really think of any.

^ Paying for something in a shop (when there's an actual person at the till), paying for a bus or train ticket, saying hello to a neighbour, speaking to the receptionist when you go to a dentist/doctor's appointment, collecting your medication from a pharmacy, getting a parcel delivered and taking it from the delivery driver at your door....that's all I can think of right now lol.

Thanks Dougella, it's so strange how I can't even imagine myself doing most of those but they are really good ideas. I'll write them down on the list

Making small talk with a hairdresser? Being able to respond to someone if they ask for your number or to go on a date? Making small talk with a fellow dog walker?

Apparently it's Tools > Options > Composition > General. Uncheck "When using paragraph format, the enter key creates a new paragraph".

^^^ tweezers sound like your best bet. You'd probably have to unsolder the socket if you want to remove the socket itself, but that would risk damaging it and other parts

^^^^ Have you checked that there isn't a hole in the (other) end of the socket?

If there is and you can get at it you may be able to push bits out with a bent paperclip or something.

Press the little arrow in the top right corner, click "Settings", then on the left side click "Your Facebook information", then at the bottom of that list click "View" on the "Deactivation and deletion" line. Then make sure "Deactivate account" is selected before pressing continue. That way your account will be deactivated until the next time you log in. It'll look deleted to any of your friends though - if they try to find you, you won't appear to be listed (although you'll still be able to use Messenger).

There's a way to download a folder of all the photos and information you've put on there over the years if you ever want to do that. Again, click "Settings", then on the left side click "Your Facebook information", then "Download your information" (it's the second one down). You can go through that list and uncheck what you do and don't want to be included.

^ Alternatively, you can change your privacy settings so that nothing goes into your stream (or whatever it's called); when you add someone as a friend, you will follow them automatically, but if you click "unfollow" then anything they post doesn't appear on your account.

A sensible approach would be including a comprehensive opt in/out system to decide exactly what is shown to you, but Facebook don't seem to have a good grasp on sense, e.g. they won't allow a photo that includes a nipple to be uploaded, but they will allow a video of a cow having its throat slit to randomly pop up on your screen.

Couldn't you just put some super glue on the end of a nail and hold it against the broken part until it's set, then pull it out?

Oh, wasn't expecting that! Nice. I know it's possible to have moles tunnelling and burrowing, whatever they do in a garden but it's been a long time since i've heard anything of the sort - are they becoming less? I don't know.

"But we had two cats... " would've done, thanks!

Woah, is that true? Moleskin mitts - did you have to take them to a ... whatsname.. a seamstress(?) to get them made?

Almost had me - it was the having them for at least a year detail that made me think, 'why would she say that if it were bs?' Never trusting you again

Alright stop rubbing it in! I've been playing too much red dead redemption, where you can hunt animals and take them to a trapper who'll fashion the skins into clothing.

When my mum was small her dad had her recently deceased pet rabbit turned into gloves. To be fair that'd have been about 70 years ago so the world was a different place but still.. He was a bit of a **** by all accounts (well, my mum's accounts) anyway so in fact it's not that surprising.

See, biscuits, turning dead animals into gloves is absolutely doable, even i should imagine in this day and age

Do you still have those gloves in the family, anewyear? I know rabbit foot trinkets were once a thing, for luck.

Is there a saving to make for train journeys, on the day of travel, booked online rather than just turning up at the station and paying for it there?

^ It depends on the journey, but yes, there can be. There can also be savings using splityourticket or splitsave on some routes, or booking through Megabus (although this only applies to a limited number of journeys). For some routes though (eg. London Bridge to Gatwick) turning up and paying by contactless is the cheapest way.

^ biscuits, redspottedhanky and thetrainline charge booking fees, but the train operators don't - and they now price-match the external agencies, so you should save money by going directly to the operator.
