Default Random Questions (3)

This thread is a continuation of this one.
---

The OU have a student conference in June for which they're still after 23 students from the south to attend. It's in Milton Keynes, takes place across a weekend, and travel expenses, hotel and food are all paid for. It's something I'd be interested in doing, I've never been to Milton Keynes before and it could be a good opportunity to put myself to the test a little... Do I dare sign up?

^ Well done Appear, I'm sure it will be a positive experience. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that

I've got to a certain age where I've got a whole heap of missed opportunities and regrets behind me and if I could turn the clock back I would seize the ball by the horns and go for it in-spite of the SA

^Yeah well done, Appear. If you gotta change trains at Kings Cross to get to Milton Keynes and thinking about hanging around London for a bit, let me know, so I can leave to town.

When you see a GP is there some sort of questionnaire they have for every specific mental illness that they suspect you of having? I know for depression they have the PHQ.

I remember at school there was someone obsessed with drawing penises. Pretty much everyone's school work in the class had a penis on it because of him. I'm certain all the penises (or is it penii?) in the toilets, changing rooms, and local bus stops were all because of him. Its interesting how people's minds work.

No, just the PHQ-9 for depression.

^ Aye, I believe that's right. They're all low calorie and sugarless though each of a slightly different formulation.

Finally! When the rest of humanity seems to have gone mad and claim to love Diet Coke, I know there is one person out there as well who can't stand it. I'm not alone.

Here's what Coke have to say about it. It must be a popular question.

Do Americans still use 'hubba hubba' to express attraction? If not; what year did it cease? Also; did we (us brits ) ever use it? If so; did you ever use it? If so; please explain

^ Pfft!

We only imitate/piss-take them; there's no way hubba hubba was ever used in all seriousness on these shores.

That sucks..

Dad's gotten himself a colony of bees and i was looking forward to trying it out for myself :/ I've got prescribed prednisolone, but i don't want to be relying on steroids each summer.

Is that Pollenex injected?

I use that stuff cats. Works ok but it makes me sneeze the first time I use it

Best thing I've found is a nasal syringe with saline solution and the treatment I had at the hospital

Yes rocket Quattro is a series of injections.

^ I'm finding nothing works well at all at the mo. I only started getting these symptoms a few years ago, and its the worst it's ever been at the moment. After seeing this, I figured it's worth a try.

How do you use the nasal syringe and saline solution then? Does it get fired up your nose, or what?

Yeah just a big syringe with a whirly bit on the end squirt it up one nostril and water comes out the other. Flushes pollen out and you feel much better after. You can get a similar effect just by sucking some water up your nose and blowing it out but as its not saline it's stings like duck.

^ I've heard of this before, but I'm struggling to picture how it can be done without either the water going into your mouth, or running back down the nostril. Do you tilt your head?
