^It's reassuring to read someone else had something that sounds similar and that it turned out to be nothing.

When it comes to googling things that are wrong with me, I really should read more of the page and not just zone in on the worst thing on it. There’s about fifteen other things listed on that page that I read that it could be, but I immediately zoned in on the word ‘cancer’ and then the world started spinning.

They won't give me morphine for my wisdom tooth extraction, will they?

Thank you, David.

^Thanks, Purplesnarf

I felt a bit daft after going back and reading the rest of that article.
I found a lump on my testicles once, i thought that was me done for. Turned out to be nothing. Literally. There ended up being nothing there.

I do think there is something wrong with me right now though, and maybe this lump is a symptom of it. I'm so fatigued and feel rundown all the time. I'm going to ask them for a blood test when i go to get this lump checked. I think i have some kind of glandular problem

@Omar Little
Never rely on Google for a diagnosis!
Several years ago I ended up convinced I had a brain tumour (haha - need a brain first!)
I even went to the lengths of paying for an MRI scan which unsurprisingly came back clear.
It's most likely a swollen gland or maybe a cyst either way go to the doc's and get it checked they know what to feel for.
Good luck sir

Operation has been postponed. Too complex a procedure for the theatre that was available. Need to have an urgent CT scan, see new consultant then rebook.

If it really really worries you then you could go to the doctors for peace of mind ?

I'm terrible for googling any symptoms I have. I convinced myself earlier on in the year that I too had a brain tumour

Thanks Mo34 x

Wrist is getting worse as well not helped by hitting it really hard last night (****ing painful!). Probably shouldn't be climbing etc, but I've been doing it with a broken wrist for over eight months now so seems a bit pointless stopping doing anything now.

god. I wish I could stop thinking about people. I know damn well that I never meant anything to them and never will, but it doesnt stop me from thinking about them and wishing they would get in touch. I am such a sad pathetic loser for thinking that way. I guess I am just that desparate for some attention.

I insist that you inform all the other people on the internet that you are a carrier.

I can't tell you how many times I've googled various symptoms for myself or family and convinced myself that it was Cancer. Never mind that there's usually a whole list of other much less serious things it could be. For some reason most folk always seem to convince themselves that it's the worst diagnosis on the list!

I hope it goes well for you at the Dentist tomorrow. It will be good to get rid of that pesky tooth if that's the one that has been causing you so much pain recently.

I had a wisdom tooth removed a few years ago and it came out very easily - infact much easier than a regular tooth I needed removing. The Dentist injected a local anaesthetic into my mouth to numb it beforehand so I didn't feel a thing. However, my hubby had a couple of wisdom teeth removed in Hospital under general anaesthetic just 2 weeks ago. It was a complicated procedure and he was in heaps of pain for quite some time after, needed copious amounts of painkillers (Ibuprofen, paracetamol, plus codeine for a few days when the pain was at its worst) Also antibiotics for an infection. Was also on a diet that had the consistency of baby food. He is okay now though

If you are having your tooth removed at the Dentists under local anaesthetic, like I did, then I'm sure it will be an almost painless straightforward removal

All the best for tomorrow, Omar
I am going to go on Thursday. I won't be able to go tomorrow cos of the wisdom tooth. I hope it'll come out as easy as yours did, and maybe it will given that the tooth is dead. The other time i had one out, the tooth was healthy - the dentist (who has since been struck off) drilled too deep and exposed the pulp. I couldn't believe it when he took out a chisel and told me he would have to chip away at it as the roots were too deep/strong to extract it. I guess the fact that they are doing it there and not in hospital like your husband is a good thing, yes. Your poor husband though; my sister-in-law had one out in hospital, her chin and jaw area swelled up to the size of a huge goiter - hope that doesn't happen to me!

I wonder if there's anyone in the world who doesn't think they have the worst thing on a list of possible medical conditions they might have?

Thanks for your well wishes Muggins.

Bloody hell, how did you convince yourself you had a brain tumour?

Cheers, fella. Fingers crossed it's something like a cyst!

I wonder if this convincing ourselves of the worst is related to anxiety issues, much like imagining the worst possible outcome in a social situation or job interview or whatever? Is it just us that does this?

I will be going to the dr's. You should get yourself there, too! Seriously.

How can I win?

I want to be in a relationship but the anxiety associated with finding a partner is enormous, I hate being alone but don't think I am stable enough to cope with a relationship.
I don't want to waste any more of my life like this but cannot work out a sensible way forward, everything seems so near yet so far away

@Muggins
Thank you for your reply, I just wish that I could see good in myself that others see, I always feel so inferior to everyone else and I guess that's the biggest problem, I'm constantly comparing myself to others both on a material level and a personality level, it's almost as if I have an in built self destruction mechanism that I don't know how to switch off. It never used to hold so much power over me as it does now.
I really fear that I don't have enough energy left to fight it any more.

@Silent Treatment
Thank you for your support.

I don't know about that, Google had a better idea of what was wrong with me during the viagra incident than the dr who consulted, what looked like, the Dummies book of medicine!

I'm going to get it checked on Friday, thanks.
I think i need to start looking after my health more. Quit smoking. Quit chocolate and tea and pop. Quit sugar.
I think I’m going to quit reading/watching the news, too, and avoid all sources of news (twitter, etc). It depresses me way too much. And it’s not like I can do anything at all about any of it. A good few years ago I did stop reading/watching the news, and I was never happier. There’s a hole in my knowledge of everything that happened from 2006-2008, but it’s a good hole.

And while i'm in this stream-of-consciousness mode: what’s with all the attractive women who work in dental surgeries?! Every time I go to that place there’s three new gorgeous sparkly-eyed women walking about all smiles and concern for how I’m doing. Can they feel my desire? Must they always plant their boobs against my neck and shoulders when potching about in my mouth? It's all i can do to keep things down. Mind you, the men are no different. I remember my last dentist was always pushing his cock and balls into my shoulder; i could feel the outline of everything. Are dentists secretly all deviants?

I need a light-hearted film to watch and fall asleep to...

I don't know what's going on with my sleep these days. Whenever i've just fallen asleep, some part of my body twitches so violently that i wake up and then i'm wide awake again. I just nodded off in a chair but woke back up when both my legs randomly kicked out in front of me.
