Having your own place will give you some much needed independence and should be a massive boost to your confidence. Also, if you meet a nice fellow, it's less embarrassing if you take him back to a home where there's no parents to give him the 3rd degree
Thank you for your encouraging words Muggins

I guess part of the problem is that mum has only ever known me as a child so to speak, she doesn't realise that I grew up.
The finances will be the biggest stumbling block, I am going to citizens advice to see if I am eligible for any help with housing costs and also now realise that I cannot continue being self employed much longer, it's just not secure enough, I really am not sure what job I could move in to but mechanicing has to stop - much as I enjoy it my body is not physically up to doing it full time anymore.

I've spent years being scared and doing nothing so I guess I may as well be scared and try to achieve something.

That is very true. Not easy but very true, I suppose that's (sort of) where I'm at too.
Good for you

I'm looking forward to Rillington Place tonight. Still have never tracked down the Richard Attenborough version to watch which is supposed to be outstanding. Tim Roth should be good though.

Yeah, tis true sadly remakes generally are rubbish and a waste of time. I'm hoping it having Tim Roth involved means that it might actually be worthwhile and quality. Still want to see the original though if I can ever get my hands on it.

There's quite a few older films I'd like to get a look at but are impossible/difficult to find. Last Summer (uncut version) is another one. It seemed to offend a lot of ppl back in 1969 and disappeared over the years. I saw it strangely when I was kid in the late 80's I guess and have never again clapped eyes on it.

In one month I will turn 31!
I had a enormous list of things I was going to do this year, nearly all of them remain undone
I have a lot to do in the next month!
Where does time go to?

I'm kind of envious because, in some ways, I wish I could've wound the clock back and have been so much braver about taking risks, particularly regarding an education and career. The years pass by so damn quickly. If I could give any advice to the younger folk here, I would say don't wait around for the SA to get better before doing what you want to do or you're never do it. You have to get out there and do things NOW, even if the thought of it absolutely terrifies you. And that's what you appear to be doing, Fantastical, so well done you!
Thanks Muggins. Think I need to print off 'don't wait around for the SA to get better before doing what you want to do or you're never do it' and stick in on my wall.

Some telephone guided CBT (have to do that before I am allowed to see a real person) don't know if it will do any good but I'll give it a go, I'm beginning to think that just doing stuff and suffering the anxiety is just as effective.

Have a million and one things going on at the moment all of which cause me anxiety, this month is going to be a nightmare.

EDIT- just realized you asked when the appointment is 15th of December

Alcohol makes me more confident than I actually am, so I shouldn't message people about going on dates when I have been drinking

My phone pinged late last night and I thought oh it'll be my annoying (mostly unused) twitter account messaging me. Checked on my way to bed and it was a whatsapp message from an old friend. I don't use whatsapp (lol you have to actually have to have life for such things) but signed up to see what it was like, so she must have spotted me on there.

I was pleased but also a bolt of anxiety was let of like a firework. I am going to answer but I'm quite scared to. I know (through someone else) she's just had a 2nd child and has a pretty perfect life compared to mine (nice husband, really nice house, not bad job, 2 kids etc..) so I'm stuck with the don't want to admit how shit my life is scenario because of sa.

God even when something (probably) positive occurs sa makes it crap.

^ You have come a long way recently with your volunteering job and caring for your dad, you haven't had it easy, so you shouldn't be so hard on yourself and if they are a genuine person they will like you for you and not your fancy car, job or house.

I've been checking my son's hair every night and occasionally, I find a few eggs but no live lice. My guess is they're getting into his hair at nursery, laying a few eggs and then hopping onto another kid.

Just thinking about is making me itch.
Get used to it!
Unless things have changed in the last few years teachers aren't allowed to single out a child with lice and there is invariably one in each class whose parent(s) don't care so everyone else's kids keep getting re-infected.
Don't worry though it's only usually a problem for the first few years

They used to send a letter out to the parents of every kid in the class when mine were at school but the ones who don't care wouldn't read it anyway.
The boys weren't too bad but my daughter caught them a lot from one particular girl, using tea tree conditioner seemed to lessen it a bit.
We also invested in a zapper comb, battery operated and kills lice on contact as the constant combing with the nit comb was making her sore.
Good luck!

I've heard that tea tree oil shampoo/conditioner can help a lot, or a couple of drops of tea tree oil in with the usual shampoo you use.
I remember it from when in was at school and I had long hair so it was a nightmare. My brothers both used to have their hair shaved pretty short actually, maybe that was a preventative measure by my Mum

I bought a belgian bun at Greggs today with a pound coin and got what looked like about 85p in change. I thought about letting them know, but they'd moved on to another customer and I didn't fancy messing around. Am I effectively a shoplifter now? Mmm, I feel... dangerous.

If I noticed a child in my class had nits I'd have no problem telling their parent at home time We send letters out. Nits don't like hair product I believe and I've never caught them. Smother your hair in mousse/hairspray and you'll be fine, that goes for kids too
