Even though I've got less to complain about than I used to some things never change. 3 years ago I was barely clinging on to a job that caused more stress than was justified by the pay. Now I'm on an artificially inflated salery but it still doesn't seem worth it, and I have to worry about being literally and emotionally available to someone else. I actually don't know how to get a job. Every one I've ever had I stumbled into and took out of desperation. The other half constantly talks about moving in together but that means getting a job closer and so far I've had one interview and nobody is interested. She's amazing and patient but it can't last.

Have such a headache right now maybe from thinking to much, like always.

Creamy, I think your comments may have been well intentioned but they were VERY harsh. We're all fighting battles that seem ludicrous to other people but they are incredibly real for us.
Hopefully your current mood will lift Clementine and you will see things from a different viewpoint but it takes time and compassion from yourself, and from others. ![]() |

The cat just brought me a dead sparrow it had killed.
He was sitting at the bottom of the stairs, held held high, gesturing towards the small, dead sparrow on the carpet next to him. I felt bad for the sparrow, but at the same time I felt love for the cat. I mean, when a cat brings you a small, dead animal they've killed, it is a 'gift' for you, a sign of their affection and appreciation towards you. So it's like, "Aw, boy. You're saying you love me, but the poor frigging bird." Also, picking up a dead bird is so icky. You'd think I'd be used to it after the nine I picked up last year that had fallen/been kicked out of their nests. Would have been ten if I'd listened to my next door neighbour, who saw the female blackbird lying on its back unconscious and panting on the floor outside my window (it had flown into it) and said, "Ah, just leave it, a cat'll get it." Heartless bastard, it was only knocked out. |

^ Our cat used to do the same but because of the panic caused when she brought them in the house she learnt to leave them on the doorstep. Not good when you step out into the garden early morning bare feet to go and play and right into a relatively fresh dead bird or mouse.
Our other cat was so cute, she learned we didnt like it so started working her way down to things we didnt mind so much, she wanted to get us the perfect gift. It turned out to be worms. We would see her through the patio door meowing to come in with a worm hanging in her mouth, crying with laughter we would let her in and take it off her giving her praise. They were always live too so we just flung them over the fence when she wasnt looking. She brought us twigs and broken flowers too. |

^^Maybe she just wanted you to take her fishing. A fish is what she really wanted.
But, yeah, you do feel the need to praise them. My last cat wasn't a hunter, so this is a new thing for me. ^It's always nice to get a present, but I'd have preferred money. Or a WHSmith voucher. |

^ Maybe he'll work up to that
![]() My Mum's formally feral cat actually brought in a dead bird for the first time last week. She looked so proud with feathers still in her mouth. Actually the turning point of her becoming less feral was when she brought my Mum a dead mouse to the back door. |

^^ wow, she is even more clever than I thought ! That may be how the tackle, rod, book on float fishing and the 4x4 also got left outside the back door. I never put 2 and 2 together.

Is it? I must try and google a lightening map... Yeah, my dog used to seem to know and also shake during storms. I take it she's not good with thunder? |

She hates it - she's panting now and i've yet to hear a rumble.
The winds been 'up' for over an hour, the air feels charged, primed for some action. |

I am thinking about a chicken and mushroom (peters) totally soaked in malt vinegar some chunky proper fish shop chips covered in salt and half a can of cold beans on the side.
I will be thinking about this for a while. |
