I knew it!
The answer was 4 layers of polar bear skin and seal skin. And I realise I can't get hold of any of them.

@Dougella- answer is a small flush or a full flush. Small flush usually for a wee.

Couldn't Taiwan just have got someone to sit about all day farting in a panda costume and eating rhubarb just to help along relations with the Chinese?
Did they really need to say, " hey, that big special present you gave us just died,.."?

No,.. out of work actor = job for life. - happy days

Do you resent someone who takes a loooong time to reply to your emails? I haven't written someone for almost 6 months.

I was at a SA group and one of the guys said he did this, and I couldn't really understand it. Just like get awkward then not email for over 6 months, and by that time the relationship or friendship has passed.

^^ no, I just assume people are busy etc. or if I know they have SA then I wouldn't think anything of it at all because I imagine they left it a bit and then feel awkward for replying after a long time. Also I'm the worst person at remembering to reply to things so it would be massively hypocritical of me to be annoyed! It takes a lot to annoy me or to think badly of someone!

Reply! Just say the reason why you haven't replied for a while. I'm sure they'll appreciate the honesty and be happy to get an email from you :D

Thanks Biscuits. I think I will write because I've known that person for 3 years now. They have SA too and we used to meet up for a coffee before the pandemic.

I feel very bad, because they asked me to keep in touch via Whatsapp too, but I even failed to do that.

And it's like you said. When one month is passed, then I feel so bad for not replying that I won't reply at all and make it worse.

^^Affluenza. Do you mean it's awkward to write back after too much time? I feel I need to learn penpal etiquette.

How much would you contribute to the cost of xmas day food if you're invited to spend it with a family of 4 (2 adults) and 2 other adults (a couple)?

I didn't realise Christmas dinner was a business transaction haha. We've always been a - you buy/make the whatever.

How about £1 sellotaped inside a Christmas card? All in 1p coins?

Are they going to work out how much it is per head? Do you get a bill at the end?

(Serious reply: I wouldn't know how to navigate this. I guess you have to ask outright how much they'd like as a contribution?)

Lol, i think it's because we're from a modest background and my brother and i still retain some of the tightness. We won't be the only family counting the pennies for this sort of thing. We're not really keeping score tbf but my Mum and i were talking earlier and there was a misunderstanding about how it would be divided. I thought it might spark a bit of conversation on here - i wasn't really looking for a serious answer.

^ my family come from quite a poor background, so I think that's why we split up the jobs and what we are making/contributing. I guess it's the same as splitting the bill but less... awkward haha

I'm making and getting the stuff for the nut roast hehe
I'm getting the crackers too and I'll probably get the cheeses.

Hmm, functional vs dysfunctional?

No, really, there's no awkwardness, as long as it's roughly fair. My mum usually gets the rough end of it because she's more willing to part with money. Any suggestion of sharing jobs would be dismissed or not even thought about because it's organised by Mum and brother's partner. My brother will play some part. I'll just hand over what's asked for money wise and turn up on the day. Of course if i'm heading out to the kitchen i'll ask if anyone else wants a drink

Your typical xmas roast, minus turkey i think. I'm pretty sure we were asked about it and no one was that fussed.

Are you nut roasting? I have to have nut roast one day. I've no idea what it is, but it sounds good.

My mate does a really nice nut roast that's done like a beef Wellington type thing it's smoth though not like your usual supermarket ring nut roast. I kept asking him for the recipe for years and he finally sent me a photo of the recipe from some 1970s hippy recipe book with 50 years of scribbles and kitchen muck on it.

If they are serious about global warming, why haven't all motorsports been banned by now, at least

They are completely unnecessary, purely for spectators,
to give them something to occupy their interest/attention for an hour or two,
Other than that questionable "reason" I can't see a solid existential need for it,
(I speak as a bit of a motorsports fan btw )

It would send a message, at least,..
Could be an interesting initial test case, as it were,
to probe people's capacity or willingness to sacrifice or change something, for the greater good,
And would probably be a catalyst for more change to follow, and generally raise awareness.

I'm sure there's other similar things that would be easily achievable,
But I can't think about what they would be,

There's just getting to be something almost grotesque, horrifying even,
about seeing monter trucks (for example)
pointlessly roaring around and around a track for hours,
belching out clouds of exhaust fumes from burning off all the fuel,...
All, purely in the name of "entertainment "

Greta,.. I hope you're reading this,.. (she has SA, right? )

^^ Yep - there's no g in this word, I say "discustin"

Sometimes it's a "scusstin" when the situation, smell or food stuff doesn't warrant enough respect for the enunciation of the first two letters.

I think I say "scusstin" more often than "discustin"

^^ one word answer: money!

Quote:
The Motorsports Market size is set to grow at a CAGR of 10.2% during the forecast period 2022-2027 to reach $12.9 Billion by 2027. Growth in the formula racing format for electric vehicles, rising revenues in the Formula One racing championship and growing popularity of motorsports among millennials through broadcasting and social networking platforms have boosted the motorsports market. Factors such as an increase in the number of races, advertisements and sponsorships are driving the motorsports market forward. Huge investments are done by the sponsors as these sports events are an ideal platform for the companies to promote their products. This racing entertainment attracts spectators and generates revenue for its products. Increasing safety features in auto racing vehicles, increasing promotional activities coupled with rising investments by sponsors across the globe in formula racing and drag racing as well as rallycross would propel the market growth during the forecast period. Changes in the motorsport regulations such as limitations on the number of combustion engines, powertrains, turbos & MGU-Hs and others as a key focus towards driver safety, the introduction of Apps, streaming platforms and improved graphics for revolutionizing fans experience and other key trends in the motorsport industry will impact the growth of the market in the coming future.
