Currently about a month due to cutting out a lot of carbs out of my diet. I did have a cheat day when one day things went bad and ordered Dominoes so that was the last time I had bread.

I don't drink milk that much, but my diet is at least 30% bread with things on, so I don't suppose I've been more than a few days without it (since early childhood) even when I've been travelling to countries where bread is not part of the normal diet.

I couldn't go without bread. That's the annoying thing about living alone - they really need to sort out some of of nice bread for people on their own. Yeah, you can buy a roll but when you want some nice bread for toast it's just too big.

I went without milk for years.

^^ That's why it's better to store it in the freezer and remove slices as you need them. It defrosts in a couple of minutes if you want it for a sandwich and you can toast it from frozen anyway.

2 weeks but it was rare event. Typically we freeze some of our bread and even milk. We usually also have a few long life milks in the cupboard which aren’t the same but I have quite simple tastebuds so it works for me. I have been meaning to try milk alternatives like oat etc but as we’d still end up buying regular as well, I think it would be wasteful though I’m not sure how much of my excess chub is partly down to how much milk I drink. We also always had a lot of tinned food (even pre covid) as it just makes life easier for us. But we are both simple bland eaters.

Interesting! Does it work for unsliced bread - I mean obviously you'd slice it before freezing it, but I mean does it impair the texture?

For some reason I thought it would make it soggy.

Don't drink milk very often doesn't have very pleasant side effects, freezer full of bread don't really run out of that. Baked our own bread during pandemic.

Yeah, if you've sliced it before freezing there's no difference at all.

I don't think I've ever tried slicing a whole loaf after it was frozen though Although that would defeat the purpose anyway.

Yeah, who would freeze an unsliced loaf? Use your loaf, people. I guess if someone had some bread on the go already and saw a particularly good looking loaf when they're out and about and wouldn't be able to go back to get it. They might take it home and freeze the whole thing and then defrost the whole thing because they're going to share it.

Well let today be the day that the saying:

"It's the best thing since frozen bread"

enters my life.

Wheatilian bread - about a month or two, probably.
