I see the Portsmouth-Southampton rivalry is still alive and well.

I've lived in Portsmouth: it's nothing to look at. I've driven quite a lot in and around Southampton recently and much prefer it, on appearances. The thing Portsmouth has going for it is it's compactness, you don't have to travel far to get to the shopping centres or night venues, etc.

I was just trying to rile Percy! I've heard a lot about Portsmouth and none of it good. Southampton I liked when I visited there. But cities only have so much appeal..

As usual I've not done anything yet. I have two more days off work after today because I have too much holiday left.
I feel like going to the seaside. Maybe Hastings. Although it's already a bit late in the day for that.

^southampton did have it's own seaside once then they filled it all in and built the docks. If you follow the line of the train track along the front of southampton that was the shore line.

Quite impressive how they did it but at the same time totally hideous.
