@Consolida That's so understandable, but try and keep in mind that she'll probably be at least (if not more) nervous and eager to make a good impression on you

^ aww yes - nerves (and bricks) all round. There's no way she couldn't think that you're anything but lovely, Consolida. Hope you both come away from it feeling relieved.

Aw, your son has a girlfriend, that's so nice. You'll be fine Consolida, she'll like you, how could she not. She's probably very concerned that you won't like her!

Hope it goes well Consolida. Your son is obviously proud of you for him to want you to meet. Where will it be, eg at home, walking in the park, something else?

Ah Consolida, your son has a girlfriend. See, he's on the normal trajectory! It's probably more nerve-wracking for her to meet you.

^ Ha, I knew you would understand Nanuq
As a mum, I guess I've always been the number one woman in my son's life so it feels kind of strange to think that another women has come into the mix who will have a far greater influence on my son. Exactly as it's meant to be of course! I feel like the last apron string is being well and truly severed and I'm not quite sure how I feel about that, lol. They grow up too darn quick! ![]() Also, I'm going to be extra nervous because she is female, young, and really pretty ![]() Quote:

![]() They are breaking up from Uni for the long Summer break next week, and live a long way apart, so I suspect that might have something to do with her wanting to meet us today. He is also meeting her folks over the weekend. We are going for a meal but they are also coming back to the house afterwards hence me rushing around like a blue arsed fly trying to make the place presentable - not easy when you have 5 cats ![]() Quote:

oh man I had to call where I used to work. It's unbelievable how many people left that place, including the manager described on a google review as a 'braindead halfwit'. Which is about right.

Tired and too hot. Have been dog sitting all weekend. Seems to have zonked me out.
Got another request from someone I volunteer with at sanctuary (who I cat sit for) to dog/cat sit for her daughter. It shows how many ppl need/want animal sitters, its getting slightly out of hand though! I only ever intended to sit for one person cause they live in a lovely national trust cottage. I feel like reminding everyone I already have a job ta! Gonna have to think about it. |

Awful. I feel drugged is how effecting my hay fever is. I could call it a day and retire to bed right now. I may as well, i'm feeling so tired and out of it.

![]() Sounds hellish. Is there nothing more available from the docs? If antihistamines arn't working. |
|

![]()
^^ Have you ever been offered a steroid injection for your hayfever? My brother has had those and they helped.
|
|
|||
![]()
^^ I'm taking proscribed meds already from a previous time, though without the nasal spray which ran out. I doubt it's worth hassling for a fact-to-face with a GP. I may econsult and find out whether there's something stronger.
^ I've had it twice. It's very, very difficult to get. Are we talking the Kenalog injection? I was offered it once long ago by a locum and again about 5yrs ago. It's fantastic. It completely gets rid of it for the entire Summer. It's a GP lottery though. I continued asking for it long after the first time and was met with stern faces and 'dangers', etc. The second time took me completely by surprise because she actually offered me it and i hadn't even asked (i'd stopped asking about it long ago). I've not seen any middling GP who ummed and arred it over - it was either yes or absolutely not. |

^ I'm not sure what it's called but I guess so. I remember it really worked for my brother though so most probably the same thing you had. I wonder what the dangers are that makes some GPs wary of prescribing it?

Something about lowering immunity and being more susceptible to this and that, i've just read/glanced at.
I remember 'too much in one go', 'sledgehammer to crack a nut' sort of remarks. I had no noticeable side effects both times. |

^^^ Sorry, reading back looks like i'm disbelieving of the potential effects. I'm certainly not qualified to argue the argument, just saying nothing happened to me (that i know of) and, as for reading about the effects, i'm not fussed anyway. I wouldn't refuse it if offered but i'm not asking.
I think the other treatment you're referring to has been around for some time. I've never been offered it though. |

So I only go certain supermarkets I feel comfortable in. For some reason a big Tesco always challenges me, same for Asda. But having applied for a job at the big tesco I thought I'd pop in. Car park was heaving. It was an environment I wasn't too comfortable with and left as soon as I got the minimum. I should really push myself to go there more often.

I don't have hay fever every year, so it's always a surprise when I do, and itchy eyes are not always a symptom, but for the last three days I've never had such itchy eyes in my entire life
