I believe the Perseids meteor shower has begun, Logic?

Last year the peak was amazing!

So for all those looking out for lightening, you might see a meteor too if you're lucky.

Well I can't go to bed now then can I

Though there has been very little activity here over the last hour, still the odd flash in the distance, but haven't had anything nearby for a while, but it'll probably like Logic says, things can spring up out of nowhere and i bet I'll be woken by a huge crash.

It got a bit scary here something I have never been during a storm! There was a fork that hit in the south/south east when I was standing outside then all of a sudden the whole sky lit up green for about 10 seconds.. Then a bolt hit about 50 meters away then earthed and the floor seemed to light up blue with electricity jumping around for a few seconds then went.

This sucks, got woken up by a massive clap of thunder which scared the crap out of our dogs, it poured down and we had 5 or 6 flashes and its done , very disappointed.

It's been rather disappointing here in Leicester. A few heavy downpours but nothing out of the ordinary. No thunder. Currently overcast with light rain on and off.

There was a small storm here at 5 o'clock this morning. Most of the storms passed to the East.
I've got to work outside today though and that cape diagram is looking like a death sentence to me. Goodbye cruel world

Yep, we had thunder and lightening last night. A bit damp today, but still hot as all hell.

We had 7 storms in about 12 hours here one after another.

Last night was disappointing. A few flashes and some rain, and then by midnight it had gone. Nothing today yet. Yawn.

My fear specifically based on this (long ramble):

As a child I was only ever a bit scared of loud thunder,never lightning as I didn`t know what it could do. Then when I was about 6 or 7 there was a massive storm here where ball lightning went across the sky very low down (we saw it as my Dad was always a storm freak and had to have us all staring out of the windows or doors at them),looked like a ball of flame but it travelled several miles and was reported by people all around the locality. During the storm we had all the large side windows open as it was boiling obviously,and in through a window in the front room came a small blue ball of something,whizzed across the room between me and my Dad,went through the open doorway into the kitchen and across into the panel of our cooker where it blew up. Was so scary as on it`s travels it went just in front of my Dad`s face where he was sat on the settee,just over my head where I was stood talking to him (yay for being little) and just to the side of my mum where she was by the cooker. A few seconds later there was a massive bang and the power went out,and it turned out the village hall roof was on fire where it had been hit,as were a couple of trees (I can still remember seeing the flames in the sky from our house and being terrified) and a power line was down. So yeah,I really really don`t like!

Just as in wider life I`m also scared of anything that could potentially kill me just on general prinicples. What can I say I`m a massive wuss!
