God, it's STILL humid in Essex. Just FU*K OFF HEAT. I'm so sick of being clammy and sweaty and uncomfortable. Praying the rain will clear this away. Ugghh, god, these bastard heatwaves always cling on in this south eastern corner of the island.

We barely got any rain here. :'( I've seen droplets on my car, and that's about it. I feel bad to say this knowing some areas are flooding, but I would love to see a proper downpour.

Looks like it may rain. Forecast says otherwise (10%). I really want it to because i could do with going for a walk in the wet.

^Genuine question here. What's nice about a walk in the wet?

Hoping it does rain for ya

I think it brings you even closer to nature, perhaps, like there's a sense of being more 'involved', being directly effected by weather. I like how it effects everything else too, puddles, wet surfaces, dripping, water streams. Not forgetting the sound. You don't get that quite so much with other conditions. You can feel the sun of course and wind too, but i'm not too keen on sun unless it's a weak kinda Spring/Autumn sun that's faintly warming. The wind i can't stand - worst weather condition for me. I also have a strong association of ASMR with the rain. I rarely get the sense now, but rain was a major trigger when i was younger.

I also enjoy a nice walk in the rain, a few years ago I was having a really miserable time and I took the dog for walk one afternoon and it poured down.
I didn't have a coat and got soaked but something in me clicked and it was the first time in months that I'd felt happy.
Splashing in puddles and squelching in the mud it was like being a four year old again!

Another good thing about walking in the rain is that most people don't like it so there are less of them around.

I always take my kids out when it rains so they can jump in the puddles, but I stay under my umbrella

One thing I love though but I've not experienced for a long time is the smell of rain when it falls on the hot ground after its been very hot for a long time. I never knew there was a name for it, but found out recently it's called "petrichor".

^^ I can relate. Rain gives me a refreshed feeling. I feel better after a walk in the rain than any other weather (apart from snow, but that's a novelty). Obviously if it's absolutely pissing down then that's a bit different, though walking through a forested area is still pretty cool. Forest smell too

^ I've heard of petrichor. My spellcheck doesn't like it

Ugghh, 3rd September and it's really humid in Essex. Muggy last night as well. First time I can walk down the street in a coat and scarf I shall be grinning with joy.

Are you referring to me as 'spud plant'?

Well, that rain didn't last long. I didn't even get chance for that rain & cuppa tea cosy vibe thing going on

STILL horrible and humid in Essex. Jesus, we are a week into September. I am desperate for some cold air. I think I have felt hot and sweaty and uncomfortable every day for pretty much two months solid.
