Hugo 9/10 First film I saw in 3D magical, good cast.
The Hunger Games 7/10 Good for what it was. Could have done with a bit more dialogue. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo(Swedish version) 6/10. Loved the book series. was really looking forward to this and was really disappointed. It just didn't get into the psychological depths the book did. Its put me off watching the rest and off watching the American version. |

Half Nelson - Decent film starring Ryan Gosling as a school teacher on the edge 6/10
The Three Musketeers - Really cheesy 90's version of the story starring Charlie Sheen and that twat who played Robin in Batman and Robin. As light-hearted tosh goes, it's pretty enjoyable fluff 5/10 |

Yup, I have. I liked the first half, thought it was a really effective with some good shocks. Specially the bit where there's someone standing behind the babies crib, I nearly fell out of my chair at that.
All went tits up for me in the 2nd half though, it really lost it's way and I found it more funny than scary. |

I tried watching 'City of life and death' over on BBC iplayer, was good (8/10) but had to turn it off 3/4 of the way through, it was too distressing.

Heat. Decent thriller. Much too long though. Could have been trimmed by at least half an hour. 7/10

Scott Pilgrim vs the World
I HATE Michael Cena. I dont know why. Hes a good actor. Just has one of those annoying faces. Maybe its the typecasting too. Good film though. Loved the 8-bit sounds. |

^ Although I really like the film, Michael Cera is nothing like the comic-book version of Scott Pilgrim! Jesse Eisenberg would have suited the part better (and apparently he was considered for it) Personally, I think Johnny Simmons, who plays Young Neil, would gave been perfect for the lead!!

The Hunger Games - 3/10 - The book was really good they cut so much from it that if you saw the film without reading it first it would make no sense. Very little dialogue between the main characters, especially at the start of the film and it gives you no idea of the backround to the story which is explained in the book. Also being a 12a most of the violence is toned down or cut altogether. Disappointing.

bronco gentlemen
Napoleon Dynamite follow up, basically awkward wierd characters that aren't relatable and a very wierd story that is mental, it is funny though better the ND with Sam Rockwell playing a brilliant role. Also the female filmmaker is very well acted! |

Naked - 8/10
David Thewlis' attempt at a Manc accent is dismal, but this is an engrossing film nonetheless. Much darker than most of Mike Leigh's other work though. |

Mean Girls - Not sure why it's taken me so long to get around to watching this, had heard from many people that it's a lot funnier than you'd expect. They were right, some genuine lols and a lot of fun. 8/10
City by the Sea - An enjoyable drama where the acting probably raises the bar on what is a rather predictable but quite poignant script. Though the guy who played the biker out for revenge was really miscast IMO, he just looked like a massive tool with a mullet 6/10 |

Lethal Weapon 2.
I am quite a fan of the Lethal Weapon films and I think this is my favourite and quite political too, in a hammy Hollywood sort of way. Danny Glover is the man. 7/10 (Have read that they are going to reboot the series without Glover and Gibson, it's not gunna work! It belongs in the 80s/90s time frame) |

Poor Cow - 6/10
Not Ken Loach's finest hour - it doesn't help that the main character is so one-dimensional and difficult to warm to - but I'm a sucker for social realism, so I quite enjoyed it all the same. |
