Patronise away! This year is my 11th as a vegan and I'm still here and, um, 'manly'.

Had any more thoughts on this? Maybe you could be detoxing?

Does anyone put their washing machine through a 'service run'?

Last week i put a load in and when it came out i noticed some grey marks on some of the clothes. I put it down to them getting caught in the rubber seal part because when i checked it had a build up of scum under the flap part.

So i've been looking for how to clean it: basically you set it at it's highest temperature and then let it run through a short cycle (without clothes). My question is: is there anything i could add to the drum or in the draw to aid the cleaning? Just something that most people would have in their cupboard.

Also, i came across this clip: it's (unintentionally) bloody funny!

I used to have a roommate called Calum who was always overstuffing the washing machine and causing it to fail. When he eventually moved elsewhere, the washing machine was fine again, which just goes to show that washing machines live longer with Cal gone.

Which cuts/forms of meat benefit from being left out at room temperature before cooking?

Dad left some mince out this morning which i put back in the fridge (when i got back around 1ish) and he's just got back and laughed the 'i know better than thou, you silly boy' laugh before arguing it's the known method ... which i call bollocks to. I think only thicker cuts of meat benefit.

^ Essentially it comes down to levels of responsibility. A global mod has a little more than a regular mod, and an administrator has more than that. Regular moderators may become global moderators if they choose to do so after sufficient experience, though it isn't necessarily the case that they'd later go on to administrate. All roles are voluntary, though, and all are active members of the site and therefore contend with the same issues as other members.

^ 32 appears to be the logo of a company called Numark, which makes DJ equipment and stuff. http://www.numark.com/

That's the only one I could find. It could be wrong though, but it's definitely the same logo.

How do I measure my hands? I've always wondered how they compare to the average. Also, what's the average?

Every night this week I've ended up eating something sweet in bed. Mostly it's been Nerds, tonight it's been a Cream Egg. I'm not usually that fussed on sweet stuff either - it's why I tend to have a drawer full of it from when it's given to me. Is this what comfort eating looks like?

Could be that you're being a selfish, candy tease

Does anyone else know of your drawer stash? What do they think?

^ If Lucille were my mother I'd have none of these issues. Dammit I wish she was.

I don't know if anyone else knows about it. People do know about it here though, does that count? It's not like a stash or anything, it's just I'm never usually in the mood for sweet things so they tend to accumulate. It's taken a fair hit this week, however.

You'd be her favourite!

Nah, it just seems odd to put these things that you're not all that fond of in your (bedside?) draw, as if you want to retain their status as being yours (and you'll do as you wish with them!)

Wouldn't it be nice if you left them out somewhere for others to eat, perhaps? Share the wealth? I leave my peanuts out (i said PEANUTS) for all and sundry to nibble on.

^ You reckon?? That's this nicest thing you've ever said to me.

Desk drawer, not bedside. Christ, I sound right mental when you put it like that, but maybe there's something in it. Sharing them out sounds a nice idea but suspiciously communist, so on those grounds I decline. Plus I might want them one day, like I have this week.

I just really liked the idea of you being retentive, squirreling things away in yer drawer. I was quite tired too. I don't think of you as being a mental

^ Haha. You don't think of me as being mental? Again, that's a bit nice... What are you after? I've already said I'm not sharing my sweets.

^ I don't drink drinks that require making so I don't think your plan would work. I like the idea of a thread of treat drawers and cupboards, but I'm not sure others in engage in the practice, or at least not to the level that I do.

We used to have a treat spin dryer. It was the only way ex hubby wouldn't eat all the kids' treats but I did have to remember to move them when I used it.
