The tea thread!!
Well someone suggested it and its definately worth debating the best way to make a cup of tea!
I like mine very strong/hot with just a hint of milk. How about you? I need to know so I can make you what you want when you come over for the first time!!! |

Re: The tea thread!!
I just bung a tea bag in a mug, pour on boiling water, bash tea bag about with a tea spoon, fish tea bag out, add milk/sweetener, stir.
Currently using Tetley as I find Yorkshire Tea bags stain the cups worse than others. I have it medium strength. When I was a kid, we had a tea caddy dispenser thingy on the kitchen wall and used loose tea. It was a 1960s/1970s thang. |

Re: The tea thread!!
I'm probably addicted to tea,
I think I'd be a bit lost without having a few cups with my lunch and after my dinner Even coming in at night from a film or a concert I'll get a brew on to settle myself before going to bed, I usually warm the pot then put 2 bags in, fill with boiling water then put the tea-cosy on, I have it black, no milk, no sugar,... (I've recently stopped taking sugar and noticed a bit of a difference in how I feel, for the better) Although sometimes I'll take the odd dash of honey, I was out shopping earlier and almost got some earl grey, but baulked. I usually have Tetley breakfast tea but have recently moved to Yorkshire tea bags, I should probably try dabbling with decaf as I'm usually a nervous wreck most of the time, so wouldn't mind cutting out anything that could add to that. I have some "man tea" I got for Christmas, so will be trying that out soon. |

Re: The tea thread!!
Reluctantly weak as tea stains your teeth worse than coffee due to the tannins it contains, so weak as with tons of milk...so it’s basically the shade of tooth enamel!

Re: The tea thread!!
Ever since I had COVID it's like my tastebuds reset and I've gone back to before I liked teabag tea and can't seem to reacquire the taste for it . It tastes like pond?
I prefer loose leaf because the flavour is more delicate. My favourite is violet black tea, and green tea with jasmine. I have a cute little loose leaf tea pot. But yeah, I don't have tea all that often. I never trust other people to make me a cup of tea because our tastes are never aligned. Weak, milky tea makes me physically gag. |

Re: The tea thread!!
I used to have a lot of different types of tea, to try them out, and wean me off my addiction of breakfast tea,
But they always invariably went out of date as I wasn't taking them often enough, There's so many blends out there, of the main ones, Plus, all the berry teas as well, Next on my experimental tasting list is Yogi Tea organic "men's tea" Seems to be a blend of Ginger, ginseng and chili, Think it also has a lot of curry spices in it as well. |

^ it's light and refreshing. Honestly, it's lovely.
White teas are also nice as well. ^^ Men's tea! That sound delicious (the blend) you could perhaps experiment with making your own infusion. |

Re: The tea thread!!
Is tea actually good for you though? Ive read it is.
One thing Ive realised is that fruit teas are not for me. I just find them way too bitter and nothing like the fruit they are meant to represent!! |

Re: The tea thread!!
Yorkshire Gold, brewed for four minutes, quite milky with Cravendale whole milk, and two sweeteners (used to be the red Canderel container but I've switched to a yellow one I think made by the same company).
