Salad in the bin

I ordered a curry not a salad

I don't get the point of salad in any form..

It's all about the poppadoms and mango chutney

Anyone know what the heck this is?

It was in with my son's Chinese takeaway but he didn't order it. I'm guessing it's vegetarian but I'm scared to try it, the yellow stuff looks hairy

^ fishy mysterious, or literally fishy? There seems to be sugar in it. I ate some of the green stuff and it was probably like, the third most disgusting thing I've ever put in my mouth. It's really greasy and I can't get the taste out of my mouth now.

Eww, I'm glad I didn't try that bit then. It's on the compost heap now. And I feel a bit sick.

@Bambos I went to Bucharest years ago, it's part-Fallout 3, part brutalist Soviet architecture, part nice old painted beer halls. The train to Brasov went through some beautiful mountains though. The infrastructure was very lacking and the officials weren't very helpful at all. It may have changed since.

This is probably a stupid question, but I want to make sure...

I've been a fool and forgot my cars MOT expires on Thursday. I haven't booked one though, and I need the car on Thursday. Googling random forums has resulted in a mixed answer. Is the day of expiry the day I can no longer use it? or the last day I can use it?

If you're driving to the test centre you would be okay, I'm not certain about the expiry date, Google wasn't my friend.

Dictionary says :
expiry date noun [ C ] the date at which a document, agreement, etc. has no legal force or can no longer be used.

It will tell you if it has expired. It shouldn't be.
I was going to suggest that because it would show that your mot has expired.

Thanks all of you for the response. Put me at ease somewhat. That's a good shout on checking it just after midnight on the day. Never thought of that

Google has let us both down

My understanding is that you can drive it up until midnight on the day of expiry. It expires at the end of the day.

Beyond that if you are booked in for an MOT test it is a bit of a grey area, technically I don't think its actually legal anymore but the police still seem to allow it as long as you are booked in and written in the book at the garage and you are on route (because that used to be the law and people weren't told any different).

You are not covered for driving to and from a retest from what I gather even if you are booked in.
The bold bit is how I understood it too, but the thought of being pulled over on the day and finding out I'm wrong has been in my head all day haha.

The MOT guy I used last time is kind enough to pick my car up himself for free, so thankfully I don't have to worry about the rules around taking the car to test. Otherwise I'd probably have imploded by now

Thankfully I won't be driving where any cameras will get me. And yes, I would hope a police officer would see common sense if I'm pulled over on the deadline day anyway...

Thank you again for your answer/help

S'alright

Really, i was just trying to make conversation, i kinda already knew the answer as i have done this before but quite a long time ago. It's a useful service if you're sending a CD/DVD/paperback book that isn't of much value and, like you said, you can't be doing with the post office faff.

Now, is there a more adult version of this type of book? I still want to throw dice and do battle, just with more swears and maybe some boobs.

Has anyone ever had a barber ask them if they want their eyebrows trimming? It happened to me today and I can't think why I would personally.
