Good to see you back, Spud!

I've got a welcome back gift for you:

Although truth be told, I planned on doing a whole bit on this picture frame a bit ago. But then I thought it might have been a bit too much. So that idea got shelved. But anyway, I still have this photo frame. So I thought it was a shame to waste it. Anyway, welcome back!

Also, I hope you don't mind, but I planned on dedicating another Barry White song a bit ago as well. But that idea also got shelved. So I know it's a lot to ask. Especially as you've just got back. But I promise this will definitely be the very last dedication song I make:

I would now like to dedicate this song to our good friend, Spud. Welcome back!

Disclaimer:
A lot of sugar was consumed during this post. I know I've said this before, but without question, I think I've definitely got a handle on it this time!

Second Disclaimer:
This post is a bit too much. So no response is needed of course

Counterpoint - weren't they a little bit too small to exhibit any flavour? I've had chocolate covered giant ants before and they weren't too bad! I think I had a chocolate cricket too. I'd definitely prefer a pack of chocolate covered dates or Brazil nuts to be honest though.

Nice one, spud. Gotta love a passport/driving license photo. 50p to see it, pls.
Also lovely to see you posting :]

^Yes they were a bit small tbh. I shall work my way up to chocolate giant ants!

That's very cool, where did you experience that?

Cheers, Chess and biscuits

I don't think i'm quite out of the clear regarding a fine so i won't properly rest until i've got it posted back and there's a few weeks past, but it's a little hefty load off which has been mounting and nagging away in some corner of my mind.

Told chef that I was busy when he asked me to do a small task he could do his self. It’s a step in being more assertive.

A friend went to London and bought some for me and my sister to try. They used to sell them in little pots. They were good! I wouldn't eat them now though because I love ants, especially leaf cutter ants.

A couple of weeks ago I taught a cooking class in someone's house It was just for three people - the one who asked me to do it, who'd I'd met a few times, and her two of her friends. At the time it felt like it was awful, and I found it difficult knowing how to lead it while also trying to do things competently in front of them, trying to answer endless questions, trying to make sure they all felt like they were doing things equally, trying to think of how to make it both enjoyable and informative to them and so that they would feel like it was worth their money, but also trying not make a fool of myself while juggling all those things.

I was asked a few days after it if I'd do another one for them plus two more people, and I said I'd think about it since I wasn't sure that I wanted to go through all that again, but earlier today I agreed and we set a date for it in September. It's taken a while to convince myself that they probably did have a good time and weren't just saying that so that I wouldn't feel bad. I think doing it again will probably help with self-confidence, or at least give me the chance to work on not viewing things so negatively when presented with contradicting evidence (unless it does go very badly next time).

Go you ^

People might say something nice to be polite. But they wouldnt ask you to do it again and bring even more people they know if they didnt enjoy it or felt genuinely positive about it.

I haaaaaate when people do that on TV!

We did two things - tacos (prawns, salsa macha, pico de gallo, cabbage, radish and lime cream) and tostadas (chicken tinga, refried beans, chipotle/tomato salsa, pickled red onions, avocado, feta and coriander):

Popped down to Argos to pick up some headphones, the wind has made my hair a wreck and I look pretty bad.
Get there, go in and immediately accosted, they seem to be overstaffed so they immediately help.
We went to the counter, I gave her the code and she got my headphones. Yay me but I'm generally okay with that kinda thing.

So I get outside, pop them in my ears and...bam, left ear bud isn't working. My nightmare, returning faulty goods.
So I go back, explain the situation and they have to test them, so being Bluetooth they have to physically listen to what I'm listening to, which luckily is Romesh Ranganathan and he's brilliant.
She nods, agrees it's broken and offers to get me a replacement one...they don't have one.
So she has to look through for an alternative, which she finds, I agree it's fine and we have to go to the till so she can process it and process my excess refund.
Then my card won't take the money back, then I have to give them my email to process the new receipt.
Being trans, my voice isn't great, but I do it anyway, so then I stand there and wait for my headphones.

Very VERY mild nervousness, no anxiety spike, no utter panic.
I think I'm doing so much better than I was years ago.

I confronted my boss through WhatsApp about something he did that I was not okay with. I’m waiting to see how this goes.

That's really good! Telling your boss you aren't happy is actually a majorly brave thing to do. But I think most bosses want to adjust and I hope it went well

^ I really like the second one. Great detail around the cat's edges, and the moon and space dust has nice shading. Beautiful.
