Re: Inspirational quotes/sayings etc
What is the purpose of life?
Is it not to learn... About the universe, other people and, ultimately, about oneself? You reply, "Ok, but then what?" But can you not see that there is no 'then what'? The destination is the journey itself. Why? Because the truth is, you can never know about all those things, And so your journey merely continues; Learning all the time as you go. And so the purpose of life is this; Right here, right now. Simply learn to savour and appreciate The specialness and uniqueness Of each and every little moment in life, For it will all too soon be gone, Never to be experienced again. |

What is the purpose of life?
Is it not to earn... get a paper-round, deliver pizzas, and a full-time day job. You reply, "Ok, but then what?" But can you not see that there is no 'then what'? The destination is the journey itself. Why? Because the truth is, you can never have too much money And so your journey merely continues; earning all the time as you go. And so the purpose of life is this; Right here, right now. Simply earn and savour and appreciate your money The specialness and uniqueness Of each and every little moment in life, earning money. For it will all too soon be gone, Never to be experienced again Sir Alan Sugar |

Re: Inspirational quotes/sayings etc
^Ah good one. I've had that thing of trying to get back to the person I used to be while knowing I can't get back there and it's weird and a waste of time. And I wasn't even myself fully while I was that person, so that's ... what it is.

Re: Inspirational quotes/sayings etc
^ googled it, apparently it was Napoleon. He said some clever things. I've collected a few. He was right about China, for example.
“Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide.†“If I had to choose a religion, the sun as the universal giver of life would be my god.†“The best way to keep one's word is not to give it.†“Men are moved by two levers only: fear and self interest.†“China is a sleeping giant; let him sleep, for if he wakes, he will shake the world.†“The reason most people fail instead of succeed is they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment.†“Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily.†“Ability is of little account without opportunity.†“Glory is fleeting, but obscurity is forever.†“It requires more courage to suffer than to die.†“Success is the most convincing talker in the world.†“From triumph to downfall there is but one step. I have noted that, in the most momentous occasions, mere nothings have always decided the outcome of the greatest events.†|
