A fair bit of snow in the city and surrounding countryside around here but nothing that unusual.

The worst of the problems in Scotland seem to be to the south of Dundee around Edinburgh/Glasgow and the Central Belt. It seems to be pretty bad down there actually.

Still just puny feeble london snow here, still I can see the roads are pretty empty and people havent bothered going out for fear of instant death. I wish I normally left the house that way I would continue to do so and call everybody else a pussy, its hard to do that sat in bed watching the snow on cctv rather than get up and look out the window.

I want to move to the coast, we never get a decent blizzard here

Only lightly snowing here. Like someone has held a giant sieve in the sky and giving us all dusting with icing sugar.

We haven't got much here in Cambridge. It's no beast.
It is bitterly cold though, my hands were actually in pain walking the dog yesterday.

So apparently now we're going to be affected by Storm Emma (how has it got back round to E so quickly) with freezing temperatures and high winds. It already sounds like it's blowing a gale outside. I think I'm going to hibernate for the next few days.

Tons of snow here,
Had to clear a mini snow drift from my drive today,
That's before I could even attempt to venture out,
I have even resorted to clearing snow off my car with a chopping board as the usual plastic scrapers from halfords won't even look at it,
Saves loads of valuable minutes too, which I can spend slurping muesli and stuff,

dude i tell you whats really cool, if you can get yourself to a windfarm those things are unbelievably huge, its seriously unnerving. theres one not that far from me where theres hundreds of the things, each time one of the blade whips round over your head each one of those things is similar in dimensions to an aeroplane or something! they just tower above your head its nuts

not sure if windfarms can fire lazers out their faces tho eh

^^ D'you know, even though i spotted it real quick and clocked what it was (despite not being a Star Wars nut), i had to check a few times, especially after i replied - i didn't want to be laughing at something that was actually some man-made structure

That sounds pretty cool, i'd have to see it to believe it, though i wouldn't have the slightest idea where the nearest is Might have a looksie..

I assumed it was a huge mutant tortoise (they could make that into a cartoon, maybe they could be martial artists and could be of a demographic that appeals to kids, it could be called 'Huge OAP Tortoise Snow Dwelling Martial Artist Mutants').

My boy keeps shouting and screaming in his sleep, the wind must be scaring him.
This is absolutely hellish, I can't stand being stuck in the house at the best of times and I'm genuinely housebound atm because I can't handle this weather at all. My boyfriend went walking to Asda with his mum tonight and took pictures of them both laughing and making snow angels and I'm sat here on the verge of crying and wishing I could move to Spain.

^I know how he's feeling. This weather is pretty ****ing terrifying. It said on the news that I'm in a 'Red Alert Zone'. Last week I was at the epicentre of an earthquake. I'm starting to get suspicious.

I just spent a week in Latvia where there was thick snow on the ground, the daytime temperatures were around -10c and it was getting down to -20 at night. Still everything went on as usual, no problems with the buses and trams etc. Then I get back to the UK with it's paltry dusting of snow and hysterical headlines, and would you credit it the first thing that happens is I come down with a nasty cold. Bloody typical of this country

We were due to go to Riga this month but missed out due to personal circumstances. Anyway, I check in on Riga webcams most days and, as you say, it's brutal over there currently. Actually a rather 'warm' -7 tonight, but daytime temperatures of -11 due this weekend. Plenty of snow. The river frozen over, yet life goes on as normal. Over here? Pathetic. You'd think the world was about to end the way people and the media are overreacting to what is just a winter storm.

And if I hear the damn 'Beast fron the East' from a tv presenter once more my telly screen is going in.

Someone on telly tonight called it ''The Hysteria from Siberia''.

I hope your cold gets better soon.
