Hi.

Maybe it would be nice/helpful to have a little ASD subsection on the forum - in recognition of so many members having ASD or suspected ASD. Just a thought as at the moment all the ASD related threads are in 'Other Mental Health Issues' and Autism is not a mental health issue (obviously anyone can have mental health issues).

As a team, we feel that as we are a social anxiety forum we would not have a separate ASD sub-section. We have however changed the name and description of the 'Other Mental Health Issues' section to be more inclusive regarding topics of neurodiversity.

Hello. Sorry, didn't want to create separate thread for this.

Posting photos is not working for me. I followed the instructions by filo. Tried to post a photo hosted on imgbb and then tried to copy and paste direct link from google images.
Result is just emptiness, nothing there. What am I doing wrong?

Trying to post in The Study sub forum, if that makes any difference. Using Chrome, laptop

Upload your image to any hosting site and copy the address of the upload, or find any image via Google images and copy the address of the image, eg

"https://i.ibb.co/LkqHT72/download.png"

Put that address in between [IMG][/IMG] tags either by using the image icon (the fifth icon to the left of YouTube) or manually typing the tags.

^ This helped, but not in the way I expected it to help.

I was doing the same thing before, but now I understood that I actually need to select "Copy image address" option instead of copying some link to the image.

Still, I think this might confuse people and the tutorial needs to be updated, as first, you need to right click on the image and then select "Copy image address". This is if you are using google images or if using such a hosting website as a imgbb. I would expect hosting websites to have direct link to the image, but when you copy a link they provide on imgbb, it's not the direct link to .jpg or .png or whatever. That's why it's not worked for me.

EDIT: Still, even right click and Copy image address not always work. I believe, to be able to post image on this forum, it must end with the image format, so .jpg, .png or others, but not sure 100%.

imgbb gives you a bunch of links underneath the image to copy and paste, when you upload it... I can't remember which one works but I know one does. I think it's already got the img tags around it IIRC.

^^ some image sites don't like you 'stealing' their images so if you copy a link to their image they block it from being used in other sites. You'll have better luck saving it to a file and uploading it somewhere else, in that case.

Hello. I’m trying to send a group PM on here and kept getting error messages. Someone in the group has a special character in their username. Prior to the change that happened on here, all PMs would send to that person, and now it comes up with an error message. It’s sort of similar to my signature, in that sauk is no longer recognising the character in their username so they can’t be PMed.

I’ve tried to PM this person from their profile, from the name on their posts, and by typing it.

I even tried simply sending the word BUM to them as I thought it’s bound to send if I do something embarrassing. It didn’t.

The PM is going to be really anticlimactic when they do actually get it.

Sorry biscuits I have no answer/fix for you. I realise a few things have been disrupted since the server changed.

On saying that I've had this problem in the past with a PM to someone using a greek letter in their name and it just simply would not send no matter what. In the end we had to email the said person.

I can only suggest you email the person (if you have this) or perhaps leave a message on their profile page to say your unable to contact them currently. I can email someone on your behalf if needed and pass on your email with your permission - but obviously I can't give out email addresses.

Occultus deals with the tech side of things for the forum but is not around at present.
