How do you fill your days?
Is there anything you'd like to change or add?

I seem to spend more time trying to decide what to do than doing things.

A large part of my day is spent making sure my rambunctious, boisterous, ball of energy, 4 year old son doesn't accidentally kill himself.

If by the end of the day he's still alive and not psychologically scarred, I'm giving myself a pat on the f**king back.

When im not working I do a lot of crafting, penpalling, watching tv/dvds/youtube and at least an hours exercise. Tuesdays I go to tap class in the evening and Wednesdays I go to show dance class.

It's easy to fill your days when your mood is getting better. Time just passes fine while doing pretty much anything. When depression hits, I just wait for the day to end and it takes ages to end and I wake up depressed as ****.

Wow I had nothing like that, it's literally just pay and show up

Show dance classes sound like fun. I'd love, love, love to learn flamenco!

I'm usually at work and unfortunately, tend to do very little after it, other than basic household chores,

I'd like to try and lift myself out of that rut by incorporating more "me" time,
As in, being creatively productive in some way,
Either through drawing and painting, photography, or making some form of music
And hopefully also squeeze in more exercise time,
I'd love exercise to just be a daily thing I don't have to force or think about.

When I'm not in a work day schedule I just procrastinate like hell,
Often falling back into looking online frequently,
just to escape from housework for a few moments,

I think that the prolonged habits formed from having to adhere to a daily work routine
has kind of ruined my original, natural spontaneity,
and I can often find myself feeling a bit lost when I'm not in that schedule,

It really annoys me that I've lost that part of me that could just enjoy the simple pleasures of free time,
Now, I tend to find it somewhat troubling being at a loose end,
And yet, before, I practically revelled in it,
just drawing for hours, enjoying a book or pottering about enjoying music or something.

^ Oh man, I get that so much. There used to be an artistic side to me, but it's completely gone now.

I think I can blame executive dysfunction for a lot of it too. It's this feeling of "what's the point" when it comes to ANYTHING for me that can be considered a hobby or fun endeavor. I actually found a good comic recently explaining how it is:

Right now I'm in this funk where I don't do anything at all because I'm so obsessed with moving next month that I"m just waiting for it to happen.

That's why I haven't been on here as much either. :')

That's a real shame, sorry to hear that,
I suppose knowing what's coming up ahead will give you plenty of time to prepare for the move?
But, yeah, I get that whole "putting things on hold" attitude, maybe try thinking about what artwork you'd like in the new place, or what colour schemes would work, or what kind of vibe you'd like to create in the new home?

I tend to put it down to the whole workplace mindset, and the whole ethos of time/money/productivity thing and the sense that brings of just being on some sort of treadmill,
We probably spend about two-thirds of our life at work, so it's psychology tends to creep into our being.

I think creativity comes out of a different mindset where time almost isn't an issue to consider or concern yourself with,...
Creativity comes from a different space I think, where you aren't being forced to do something for money,
and there's no guilty compulsion to remain busy for it's own sake?

I guess it takes time for that different vibe to arrive, or come about,
Otherwise, there's just this feeling of guilt and tension that your time is being lost in unproductive pursuits?

That's the way it feels for me anyway.

Carbs and resentment predominantly.

I am struggling a bit with my free time at the moment. I have a few little hobbies, read, play games and watch a bit of TV but I still find myself bored and dissatisfied. Hoping the summer and all the additional stuff that brings will change that. Convinced I'd be a lot happier living somewhere with more sunshine.

I soooo agree with all that. It's incredibly hard for me to do art commissions for this reason. I have to be in a really good head space to be creative and make anything.
