I do have a hot water bottle with a nice hygge Scandanavian pattern cover, but I think unconsciously I've been afraid it might leak so haven't used it though. Definitely good for keeping on a winter night though and saving on the fuel bill.

I need to get a new one. I got mine out a few months ago after not using it for a couple of years and when I poured the water out that I'd forgotten to empty, bits of the liner came out with it
![]() Once I filled the kettle back up with water from a hot water bottle after changing my mind about using it. I didn't realise what a terrible idea it would be. The tea I later made from that water tasted like the sensation you get if you bite into a banana skin, only a hundred times stronger. I can still taste it now! |

Slightly off topic but you know these mattress commercials when they wake up all refreshed, leaping up ready for the day.
Does anyone actually wake up feeling remotely like this? Maybe I'm getting "old"..I've probably not looked after myself either but I wake up with all sorts of aches and pains and half the time feeling as tired as I did before I went to bed! |

I wondered if it was just me who leaped up out of bed then gets hit with an assortment of aches and pains while hobbling to the kettle absolutely knackered whether I've slept for 2hrs or 10
I wouldn't mind I used to have a wanky £100 mattress that came rolled up in a bag about as thick as a rug. When I started working I thought I'd treat myself to one of these fancy ones on TV..so I got a Simba mattress and I now wake up pretty much every day with neck/shoulder pain (on top of everything else going on) I knew the commercials were lies! |

When you go to put on your glasses but you're already wearing them. I swear my close vision has gotten terrible lately. I am supposedly short-sighted but my 'macro mode' seems to fail at below 50cm nowadays. I do need to get another eye test soon. I always get the same glasses on a different prescription but then I forget which is my newest pair...

... you start to need "rest days" or "recovery time" after doing things.
I admit that I hadn't had a great deal of sleep since Friday's beer festival, followed by the combination of late nights / early mornings with the music festival in Leeds this weekend (I had less than seven hours' sleep over two nights - but that's only three less than usual), then another early start this morning for my first event of the Chesterfield Canal Walking Festival, but I actually arrived home at 3.30 this afternoon and fell asleep! I've been known to fall asleep in the evening, especially after dinner, when I've had a hectic week, but never during the day (and last week, I had nothing to do on Tuesday or Wednesday either, so I'd already had time to recuperate from the busy three weeks leading to that), but falling asleep in the afternoon is unprecedented! I'm really hoping that this isn't age catching up with me because I'm not ready to slow down just yet. |

You're excited to go to bed.
I don't know if it's the hormones but I went from someone who could get by on six hours sleep to someone who requires a minimum of 9 lol I love sleep. |

The hormones have made me sleep a fair bit more. I used to need about 8 but now 9 to 10 hours is pretty normal for a good sleep. |

You struggle to stay awake beyond 10pm and could even fall asleep in front of the tv if you really wanted to. Definitely a sign that you've reached middle age.
Even on New Years Eve, I'll be in bed by 12.15am - just long enough for most fireworks to be over with. |
